whats the first thing...

Other than venue (if that counts as being bought), I bought my bridesmaid dresses I think. Then my dress.

Erm...my dress.. ? (it was my mum's fault! She told me to go into Monsoon when they were having a sale!)

A few days after OH proposed I had him straight to the venue I'd always dreamed of! Next, we booked our entertainment for the evening as I'd seen him before and loved him! After that, my dress! xx

A few friends at work have got married recently and 1 guy brought a really beautiful umbrella that wasn't used!

It was offered to another friend who got married shortly after him and she didn't take it and it poured all day

Im hoping it wont rain but if it does ill have a beautiful umbrella! Never would have imagined this would be the first thing I brought but for £5 it was a bargain!

Next will probably be our save the date magnets!

Ours was similar to Curlysuzie. We bought the bits to make Lego figures that look like us.

Other than that it was the venue deposit

My first thing was this bracelet - I just happened to see it and really liked it!

After the venue it was its for our centrepieces; have 20 cut glasses, one decanter and some candlesticks for our table decorations so far!

First physical thing purchased was the save the dates. But venue was first thing booked - which is most likely the norm.

If booking things counts then was the venue,
actual purchase was a mr & mrs sign

We bought lights, we'd seen them at a wedding fayre and knew we wanted them, and then after we had found the venue, and set a preliminary wedding date, we went to another wedding show and the suppliers were there so we paid the deposit!! Before we'd even paid a deposit on our venue!

Big stack of wedding magazines as I hadn't a CLUE where to start! Even though I'd been advertising on Hitched for years, I didn't even know there was a forum until I was a bride-to-be myself and was several months into the planning before I found out about it!

The first thing bought was the wedding rings! Bought at the same time as the engagement rings as the Jewellers offered a discount! after that we booked the venue & Registrar ?

After booking venue (and the flower lady before I'd even set the date ha!) it was the red luggage tags for my save the dates

The first think we brought was the deposit on the venue. Soon after that we brought the bits to make the save the dates.

First thing we bought were our rings, second we booked the photographer, we decided they were the most important things - the things you keep forever, everything else just enhances all your memories!

Not counting booking stuff (which venue was the first we booked up) I think it was our website domain name and as a "thing" our themed umbrellas to use in case it rains on the day!

My first purchase was £50 worth of card for our stationary.... the colours decided our whole wedding scheme eventually so I'm very glad I found it!

Bizarrely, apart from booking the venue, the first thing we bought was the cake (or at least arranged it and paid the deposit). We are having a sandcastle cake, as we were wanting that to be the fun part of the day
