What's your absolute most favourite thing about your wedding?

FutureMrsRon, 17 May, 2011 at 09:10 Posted on Planning 0 45

Other than actually getting married, what's the one thing that you absolutely had to have for your wedding, and would have an actual tantrum if someone tried to take it away from you? Be as shallow as you like ?

My dress!! and also having the ceremony on the beach, I knew it was a risk with the weather in Scotland in April so we had a back up plan but really had my heart set on it so glad it was sunny!

It'll be the moment I see my b2b for the first time in all her finery.

Nothing else (apart from the legal bits resulting in a bit of paper) matters.

The fact my FIL2b is marrying us, it seems so much personal than just a random priest marrying us

    Oooh, so many things....

My vintage dress, the free booze for guests and 50s rock n roll band are the main things to me... but if I had to choose it would be the 50s rock n roll band. Been to a wedding with the same band and it really added to the sense of occasion.

My dress is high up on the list and i can't wait to see the OH's face at the alter but the other thing that i am really looking forward to is my dad giving me away and hopefully being proud and happy for me.

    My Band!!!!

It was the very 1st thing we booked, they had limited availability so the whole wedding date was based around the band. x

I can't wait to see all of our kids dressed up. Not very often we can get them all together, so it will be a nice opportunity to get some nice pictures of them.

Having a cape / dress made for my dog for some fun photos - I dont care how much it will cost me, I dont care if people think im mad or a chav, its called FUN & its totally non negotiable!

As is my table linen, chair covers & uplighting - a really pretty room for our wedding guests & evening guests is sooo important to me.

My venue as we were so lucky to get it on a cancellation - usually you have to wait up to 3 years to get a Saturday. My spotty dalmatian ring bearers & seeing my baby boy toddling up the aisle in his mini RAF uniform, just like Daddy. Oh, & seeing OH waiting for me to walk down to marry him which will be priceless ?

I really want to get married outside so if the weather doesn't allow then I might throw a tantrum.

My dress. It has set the tone for pretty much all of our plans (although boy doesn't know it).

I think for me it'd have to be my venue. I fell in love with it online and it was the only one we went to look at as I already knew that's where I wanted to get married! And also my dress!

For me it'll be OH waiting at the Altar in his uniform - as it's not something I could pay for or replicate again for another occasion.

In terms of stuff I wanted and stamped my feet on - for me it's my honeymoon which I felt had to be perfect and the video that we originally didn't want/didn't budget for but became essential when we realised how often H2b would be away.

For OH it was his arrival car - he wanted to be centre of attention when he arrived.

Before the wedding it was my dress, my flowers and my gin receptacles but now, having come through the other side, turning the corner as I walked down the aisle and seeing Mr CB. It took my breath away.

Am I allowed to say everything?!

OK, the things I would cry over if I couldn't have them - the feathers, my corset, my son in a suit, my OH in a kilt.

But I haven't submitted my music choice to the registrars yet - they might still veto my tunes!

The getting ready in the morning at the hairdressers was brilliant - just myself, mum, sisters and nieces.

The card one of my sisters gave me - only one of two thing to make me cry that day.

Seeing H at the end of the aisle - the second thing to make me cry.

WAJS - though replace his B2B with Mr GB. The only thing that mattered to me was seeing him and getting married. Everything else was a bonus, But then again, I didn't go for any "extras" for that reason.

When I think back to our wedding day, the thing I remember most is the ceremony, and the first sight of Mr GB...

Apart from my groom, obviously, I'd pitch a fit if someone tried to take our vintage buses away. In fact my dad did complain about them and I DID have a tantrum. I'm not ashamed. He was talking crap. They probably won't let me for perfectly understandable reasons, but I'd love to stand on the platform at the back ALL THE WAY!

I also do love our reception venue. The compromise (which was allowing my dad to fill it with his guests) has been very, very hard. But I'm hoping that when we walk into it in the evening and it's all decorated and has all the beautiful lighting, it will make all the crap stuff melt away.

Hee hee, I plan to do my royal wave ?

H2B will be horrifically embarrassed no doubt and hide inside the bus, so people will just assume I am a crazy lady!
