So do I... I know we always talk about having kiddies but at the back of my mind there is a little "what if we can't..."

Doesn't bear thinking about right now so I am going to change the subject.

I think you should start your book...

need to get my thinking cap on then.....

i remember once i was sitting on the floor in glasgow central station waiting for my train (the biggest train station in glasgow) reading 'the crow road' by iain banks and you know when you have that feeling someone is staring at you? i looked up and there was iain banks himself, standing about 3 feet away, watching me reading his book. he looked right at me and winked and smiled.....i just sat there totally dumbfounded.....grinning like an eejit! by the time i got to my feet he was off for his train, i wouldve loved him to sign the book!

what a buzz that must be....

I started writing a book when I was about 23... only got to 8 chapters. I should finish it off but it makes me cringe when I read my own writing back! it's like watching yourself on telly or hearing yourself on tape. The story was about a girl who fell pregnant on holiday as a teenager. It was split into two stories, the holiday when she fell pregnant and then her return years later to find her sons father. The chapters jumped from the 90's to the present.

I would love to write a book.

I quite like a nice easy read for holidays and hate that in chick lit the couple only get together on the last page as if that's the end of the story! I'd write a holiday read that doesn't end on a snog!

My main ambition for the next few years is to try and have a baby.

Other than that, I think I am pretty happy with my lot. Maybe owning a property rather than renting would be an aim but I think that's pretty much a no goer for the foreseeable future.

It was going to be a tragic tale. I hadn't decided fully why she went back to find him. I thought she could be there because her son was seriously ill and wanted to meet his father or something. I thought maybe she'd held a torch for years and then found out he was a tw@t. It's not the best way to write really, I think you should know the start middle and end of your story before you write anything. I wonder how much JK Rowling knew about Harry Potter when she first started writing?

Oh and as for Dorothy Koomson, I've only read My Best Friends Girl (i think it was called) and it was absolutely heartbreaking. Brilliant.

I don't think I'd have the patience or attention span to write a book!

My ambition is very simple (like me!): To have a family and be financially comfortable

My Best Friend's Girl is her best imo. The Ice Cream Girls was bizarre - read that on honeymoon!

Cecelia Ahern is another one that started good and went a bit off the beaten track. PS I Love You was brilliant (again, film didn't live up to the book), but her later ones were plain strange!

I liked A Place Called Here. I think Cecelia Aherne has an amazing imagination. I really enjoyed The Gift too.

I like the sound of the Koomson one you mention. I might have to get that.

Have read any Tess Stimson? Her books are really good too.

I find Cecelia Aherne really hit and miss TBH. I actually loved a place called here, thought it was a really good concept, well told, but didn't get into the gift at all, or the one that's written in emails? Is it something about rainbows?

I love adele parks - I met her this week! She did a talk / signing at my local waterstones, there were only about 10 of us, she was lovely and very funny. I like her as she's so easy to read but the stories are always clever and quite real, with a twist.

I also love emily barr - her books are wonderful.

I have read Goodnight, Beautiful by Dorothy Koomson and it was so heartbreaking I couldn't bring myself to read any of her other books!

My main ambitions are pretty standard... the ones I have done are: get a good degree and get married. Then have a family and own our own house!

Slightly less standard: I have always wanted to learn sign language!

I want to be a consultant. I don't care if it takes me longer than some people because I decide to go part time/have kids/whatever, just as long as I get there in the end. I'd like to be known for being really sharp clinically but still human and appreciated by my patients.

I'd also like to have 2 children, a cat, and own a nice house with a garden that's not in London.

I like to hope that these two sets of objectives aren't mutually exclusive. ? But both rather more realistic than my childhood plan of being a famous ballerina!

I always wanted to be a policewoman or a midwife, but did neither.

Now my ambition is to own a large house with grounds and holiday cottages that I can rent out, whilst I grow organic vegetables and have a small farm and coordinate a local farm cooperative - whilst at the same time running yoga or painting courses whilst tending my immaculately and rather gorgeous children, ensuring that I am a fantastic lover to my much younger but achingly handsome husband.....no wait, thats my fantasty!

I definitely want to have my own business again, and a large house with cottages is featuring quite high, as is trying to set up a business in Turkey.

I have also always wanted to write and got as far as sketching a very vague outline for a book.

The thing I have learnt though is that only you can make things happen and its never too late to grasp your dreams and run with them. So whether its going off travelling, having a complete change in career...whatever it is, just do it (thanks Nike). Seriously, life is way too short and you have to enjoy and cherish each day.

Currently I dabble in finance and clerical stuff, with some HR thrown in for good measure. I'll graduate next summer though, with a BA in Business Studies, after which I'm hoping to get accepted to do a one year post grad in Primary teaching. You only need 100 points to be considered, but realistically you need 140 before your guaranteed entry. That means a degree and a job offer, I'm working on one, and will look for the other about six months before we go.

It's crazy what you need to get in, but I suppose that's how it maintains it's appeal.

I want the 'usual' Kids, house, money...

Seceretly I'd like to start my own catering business, sort of like meals on wheels for families and hopeless cooks but with a luxury hamper/picnic type thing thrown in for the higher end people.
