Whats your colour scheme?

sarahl2691, 16 February, 2014 at 21:09 Posted on Planning 0 31

We are trying to decide on a colour, i thought i'd narrowed it down to a "dusky pink" but there still seems to be many shades of them!

How did you decide? Are you having more than one colour/shade?

We've put quite a few colours in together - dark purple, lilac, silver and charcoal as we didn't want one dominant colour. Something a bit like this:

We decided on cadury purple, deep red and white/ivory. Mostly because red and purple are our favourite colours and my dress is white/light ivory.

    Smiley smile x

No colour scheme...champagne 'base' and lots of splashes of colour. Floral BM dresses & pale coral flower girl.

Sounds a bit mish mash but it's starting to come together really well!

Ours is a bit of a mix too - I didn't want to stick with one colour and shade. For the decor we've mostly got ivory with dusky pink and sage green. Also throwing in a bit of gold and the bridesmaid dress (not bought yet!) is most likely to be in a nude/mink colour. (Sounds like a right hotch-potch!!)

Mine is pink and hearts, it is my fav colour so it was always going to be pink. It is a bit shabby chic style. I have made bunting from burlap and cream lace and painted pearlised pink hearts on it. Bridesmaid dresses are light pink, invitations, signs, place cards etc are on recycled brown kraft card with pink hearts on. My table centrepieces will be glass vases with aqua beads and led lights with a big pink gerbera ontop ( looks amazing ) i have decided to have all flowers with some deeper pinks in them and have also bought hot pink aqua beads, just so it isnt all one shade of pink.

Hopefully it will all come together and look nice :-) good luck finding your perfect colour scheme x

Mines all sorts in pastels. My bridesmaid dresses are a soft green (not really pastel) and the boys are having yellow cravats. But all the flowers will be pastelly antiquey pinks with soft shades of blue and lilac and yellow thrown in and the chair covers will be pink too. Then we're having paper pom poms in the eaves of the barn and they are going to be a mix of pastel colours too.

I want it to look like a spring meadow full of flowers. It might look terrible. Hoping the talented florist and venue dresser will make it look tasteful and pretty because I know what looks artistic and pretty but have zero ability to achieve it. If any of you have seen those pinterest fail pins where theres something arty and amazing on one side and a hopefless attempt to recreate it on the other then you'll know what I mean.

We're having cadbury purple, my dress is ivory and the colours look fantastic together. I wanted something bold and I love the colour so we chose that, also we're getting married in October so I think the colour will be perfect Smiley smile

We were 100% set on deep navy blue. Then when I was trying wedding dresses on, there were various bits of burgundy around which threw me into complete confusion.

Eventually, bridesmaids' dress shopping settled it for us, as the girls looked best in a lovely aubergine satin. So that's going to be the main colour for us, but as it's a winter (December 2014) wedding I imagine we will have some evergreens and probably some metallics thrown in with the purple and my ivoryish (alabaster) dress.

    Hi,

We have gone for a deep red and ivory (not quite got the exact shades yet). I will have an ivory dress, potentially with bits of red on it, and mostly red flowers and a bit of white and BMs will be in deep red and mostly white flowers and a bit of red. There may be splashes of gold as it is an Autumn wedding and the chairs provided have bits of gold on them Smiley smile
