What's your favourite Christmas song?

Peaches with Brandy Butter, 9 December, 2008 at 11:51 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

One of mine has to be the Pogues, Fairytale of New York.

Just watched this clip and it takes me right back to the 80s lol. I used to wear a coat just like Kirsty's - a bit longer, all in black with killer heels and very little underneath! Those were the days! ?

I have to agree with you Mr cow intestine eater Numbers. The words are awful - so derogatory! It's just grown on me over the years, even though it doesn't sound remotely Christmassy at all!

I'm quite fond of little drummer boy by David Bowie and Bing Crosby. But, even though I'm not really religious I think my fave is actually more traditional and is Oh Holy Night. We're going to a local carol service next week and looking forward to it.

My all time fave song for this time of year, even though it's not strictly a christmas song (was just released then) is Frankie Goes to Hollywood, The Power of Love

I love Fairytale of New York too.

Every second year, my favourite is Chris Rea's Driving Home For Christmas. It gets played as we leave our street, as we're crossing the border into Scotland and as we arrive in my mum's town. ? It's such a fab song anyway but also means a lot to me.

I also love The Darkness - Don't Let The Bells End. It should have been Christmas No1 in 2003, they <scouse> was robbed </scouse>. ? I think there should be a law passed that the Christmas No1 should have the word Christmas in it.
