Im 1 of 3 girls in my family and there are no more boys so after, my surname will be gone. I love my surname but am still changing it as I feel that being married makes you a family therefore families have the same name. So i will be Mrs Pattenden although I know it will get confused with patterson or pattisson. OH gets thats all the time.

I'll be becoming Mrs Hart - can't wait!

My current surname is quite unusual and no-one can ever pronounce it and i have to spell it out every single time i do anything.

Mine is the same!!! It's so annoying haha I don't have a very usual first name either - but most tend to spell that ok!

I'm going to be Mrs. Jones ?

I can't wait!! So simple and I can dance around to "me & mrs jones" ?

I'm also going to be Mrs. Jones. My first name also begins with a J so I sound like a cartoon character. I will have to make sure our babies have unusual names to compensate for the most common surname in the world! Especially as we will be moving to Wales to be closer to OH's family in about a year. Chockablock with Jones' up there.

I once knew a man called Mike Hunt (say it aloud). His brother's name was Isaac. I swear on the souls of my unborn children that I'm not making it up!

    Hi everyone

May 25th next year i will officially become a Grant but I wanted to also keep my maiden name which is Brown, quite a few people have told me not to hyphen the name as it doesnt "sound right"

    What do you honestly think?

I'll be Mrs Hadall. I don't really want to change my name since I have a business (albeit one I'm going to close) in my current name and also about to get professional registration in my current name. However, it's my ex-husband's surname (I moved my maiden name to my middle name when I married before so had nothing to revert to) and I think it's rather disrespectful to OH and his family to keep going by another man's name. I think had it been my true maiden name, I'd either have kept it or we'd be discussing him taking mine since I'm the last in the family with it. At least we have agreed it will be used as a "family" middle name for future children.

I am taking my OHs name - So I will be a Cobley. I did suggest that we create a new surname by using half of each to create Cobmond. We always refer to ourselves by this anyway so it has meaning. However, my OH thinks it would be embarrasing to have to explain this to people when they ask why he changed his name (I would have changed mine too of course). I pointed out that new surnames have to be created somehow and we would know we were the originals! I don't think I'll ever convince him.
