Think it depends how far people are traveling. i know my brother is getting married the end of may, the furthest people are having to travel is about 150miles so he's posting his invites this week!

i'll be sending mine out 6-8 weeks before the wedding, think this is about normal.

    stay calm!

    Hi

First of all, don't panic! What have you booked so far?!

    We are getting married on the same day as you, our invites are going out end of April, RSVP date is 28th June. Three reasons we are sending them when we are;

    1) We have people coming from all over the place, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong etc etc.

    2) Our venue needs final numbers 4 weeks before the wedding, which is end of July, so we have 4 weeks between the RSVP date and the final number date to chase non RSVPs

    3) We are providing our guests with a coach from church to venue and before we can do this we need numbers, and we need to book this ASAP with it being bank hol weekend, so the earlier we can get RSVPs the better!

    HTH

    xx

Thanks all of you, the last month has been so hectic at work I haven't met any of my wedding deadlines!!! We have booked our reception venue and the church, I have my dress (which was a bargain - so one good thing) I have arranged the photographer and we have (only last week) booked our honeymoon. That is all we have done so far. I had wanted to send out save the dates but never actually got round to getting them done when I hoped to.

Ok, well it sounds like you have most of the important things covered. The only other things i would say you may need to look into booking now is, videographer (if you are having one), cake, BM dresses, and florist.

    Hiya,

We are getting married a week prior to the bank holiday on the 22nd. We are planning to send out invites towards the 2nd part of april. Due to holidays etc I have not sent save the date cards, never had time to make them. But we told everybody who we wanted to come, most people have already got there outfits!

    Hi Kate,

take a breath! You're obviously online so why not email all your good friends, and get your H2B to do the same, with the date. Use weddingpath to set up a free wedding info website. I'm so clueless with web stuff and I found this a doddle.

Invites traditionally are sent 6-12 weeks before the date. I worked backwards: our venue wanted numbers about 3 weeks before. I then added a month onto that to give us time to chase, and then about 5 weeks before THAT I sent the invites. So you could probably send at the end of MAy.

I don't have time to suggest other stuff I'm afraid ... I might pop back later. But it does sound like the important things are sorted, so do try and relax!

Thanks everyone, I actually do feel a little less stressed now. Have decided am gonna write a list of all the things to do and get prioritising and crossing things off. Bridesmaid dresses have been my biggest problem so far but am gonna pin down my sisters this weekend and get a final decision on that one. Thanks again?

I've got two weddings the first two weekends of august. For 1st August we got the invitation about a month ago, for 8th August we got it last week. But got another friend getting married 8th August (will have to miss it) and she's ot sending hers out for a few weeks yet.

You've got time to do it, so relax, but I'd say invitations is the next thing for you to focus on - especially if you're having them specially made for you or anything like that
