When do you send invites?

Bird 1, 1 October, 2010 at 15:47 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hello lovely ladies,

I'm getting married at the end of Jan and I'm not sure when to send my invites out, any ideas?

Also we are paying for the wedding ourselves and we are not putting our parents names on the invites. Does anyone know how do word it other than request the pleasure of your company, i'd like something a bit different if i can find anything good, not too formal.

Thanks

Bird x

We're getting married in February and i'm getting mine ready to send now so they don't get lost up in christmas.

As for the wording, we're in the same prediciment, we're hosting the wedding ourselves and i can't figure out what to put yet!

Blimey. You haven't had your invites made yet?

It's usual to send them 4-8 weeks in advance but like others have said, you don't want them getting caught up in the Christmas rush.

    As for wording:

    ..............

    Would like to invite

    ..............

    To celebrate their marriage

    Or

    ...........................
Invite you to share in their love
    And happiness as they exchange
Vows of marriage and begin their
    New life together

    Or

    ...................................
    would be delighted if
    ....................................
would join them to celebrate their marriage

    Nat

Hi there, I came across this site for wording invites when the wedding is being hosted by the bride and groom - some are a bit over the top but some are quite sweet and different. See what you think?
