When do you send invites?

Hi Girls...

Just wondering when the best time is to send invites and ask for RSVPS. The wedding is 9th June 2012.

Thanks x

    Hi

i sent mine out in October for a Feb wedding with RSVP of December, i knew venue would need numbers at least 6 weeks before so wanted a few extra weeks to chase up if needed.

Ask 10 people and you'll get 10 answers!

There's a few factors that you need to take into account. Firstly, if you are booking a "non saturday" wedding, something on a half term, bank holiday, Easter or similar, or are expecting people to travel some considerable distance, earlier is better.

In your case, I guess only the last point is relevant - distance.

Traditionally it's only a couple of months before a wedding but I personally think that's far too late as you have to chase people (and believe me you will), work out table plans, order a table plan, etc etc.

If you've already sent 'save the dates' out then people should be aware of the dates.

I'd do them February/March, RSVP end of April, then you have a chance to chase non-responders and invite a few extras if you need to.

Mine is August 25th - Bank holiday weekend and Ive been told that because of it being mid holiday season/bank holiday/ olympics that I need to be super organised!

Overseas invited going out Feb and UK based invites going out April with RSVP of mid June.

For June I'd suggest sending them end of Jan/early Feb.

We're April and are sending invites out next week with a RSVP for Feb to give us time to chase up and to give final numbers beginning of march.

    EEEEEEEK I'm so excited
