When The Cat's Away...

Rizzo, 13 March, 2012 at 18:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 30

Mr Moo is away this weekend so me and the Mini Moos are taking advantage of it by doing all the things he hates.

On Saturday, we're going to go to the local museum and pop into Starbucks after. Later we're going to watch HP, have dinner in front of the tv and then my friend is coming round in the evening for a bit of Singstar.

What do you do when your OH is away for the weekend?

Same stuff as when he's at home.

I always do stuff he doesn't like, he just has to lump it.

Watch whatever trash tv I want - I love CSI stuff but H thinks its silly. Eat off my lap infront of the tv. Eat rubbishy snack foods and eat not at normal meal times. Do my art work and leave it out on the floor all weekend without having to put it away. Do no houseowrk untilan hour before he's due home. sleep in late, or read my book in bed in the morning. Basically I do stuff I did when I was free and single and lived on my own, so never had to worry about anyone else!

    HE NEVER LEAVES ?

Erm... well no, he really doesn't go off for weekends very often. He spent the night at his parents on Saturday while I had friends staying, so we chatted girly stuff, giggled loudly, watched Sarah Millican's dvd. He's off to Download festival in June, so my mum is coming for the weekend, mainly to help with the baby but also so we can be all girly and eat loads of cake.

My oh is just heading out of the door to work away. I have already planned to catch up on Masterchef, desperate houswives, watch bfgw in my pjs have a bath and eat crisps. Bliss! If he was in we'd doing something 'productive' or watching ANY sport that's on tv.

He's actually at the match tonight as always so I dont have to witness it, hopefully we will win... If not I think I'll pretend to be asleep when he gets home. He's had a bad day at Cheltenham too, his horse fell in the big race and he lost 50 quid. Serves him right!

This! But to a more extreme extent.. Although if it's a whole weekend he's away for then I might just go away for the weekend as well to see one of my own mates.

When H isn't here I spend time eating my chocolate without having to share, I chose which takeout I want, I watch crap TV and hide the Xbox..

..I then leave my plate on the side until I get up again, something i'd NEVER allow MrLM to do! ?

Either go out with the girls or have a takeaway and watch a chick flick, with my pj's on, no makeup and hair scraped back. Bliss!

Neil is away for 3 days to a 'photography farm' down south so I took a sneaky few days off work. Today has truly been a day of champions.

I had the bed to myself. Bliss. I cleaned the house quickly and shock - it's STILL clean. Bliss.

I cooked a cracking dinner. I watched E! and hit the TiVo hard catching up on trash. Bliss.

I took 20 quid and went for a dander round the west end and hit the charity shops and picked up some books. Bliss.

I'm now about to shove on a film, then read my new book in bed....you know whats coming.

    BLISS!

Me too! As soon as I get in my clothes and make up come off and comfies go on (my comfies are halfway between jammies and real clothes, my superdry joggers are a staple here!). I love snuggly comfy clothes, clean skin etc. Makes me feel at home and ready for switching off in the evening.

Oh and OH is going 'home' this weekend. He does this about 4 times a year, I'm usually quite boring a clean the house from top to bottom, preen myself, have a bubble bath, catch up with work (yawn), watch rubbish TV. He normally takes the car and I can't be bothered to catch two buses to get anywhere, so pretty much stay at home or visit the local shopping parade if necessary.

I am going shopping into town this weekend with my Mum and then for a late lunch with Mum and Nan.

I've just discovered on-demand TV on the virgin box (only took me a year) so may make the most of that too.

I do this too - so glad I'm not alone. Although I call it 'lounge wear'. I cannot bear sitting around in my office clothes.

Also, when I have sole control of the TV remote I watch the soaps, Corrie is my favourite guilty pleasure.

If he's actually away the whole weekend, I'll sometimes plan a trip to see my sister, go shopping, have girly catch ups.

He's quite often out all day and night on a Saturday with football, so I'll sleep in, go shopping and bring myself back a coffee and naughty snack from Costa, have a pampering bath and watch trash and eat trash.

    Eat loads of junk food.

He's like a bloody hawk when I eat...

"Should you be eating those sweets? You wont lose weight if you do."

"I think you should stop eating those Doritos now, you've had enough."

So, when he's not there I scoff copious amounts of chocolate & crisps. ?

    It's only on very rare occasions that I would have the run of the house without either OH or kiddywinks, but on those occasions I love to;

Drink too much wine too quickly, enjoy a long lazy soak in the bath accompanied by a good book and a glass of wine, order a curry, watch chick flicks or trashy TV, play my music way too loud and dance around the lounge like a right wally, starfish in bed, get up as late as possible and leave any boring chores such as hoovering until the 11th hour.
