When to have cake cutting?

Nicalf08, 27 January, 2012 at 08:49 Posted on Planning 0 2

Sorry another timing one! When is everyone cutting their cake? For those having evening guests, are you waiting until then or will it interrupt the evening? Will they be a bit miffed if they have missed out on the cake cutting if done earlier in the day? Does anyone really care as long as they get to eat some??

We're having ours after the evening guests have arrived, it just seems to make more sense. Plus we are having it as the dessert on the evening buffet, so it will tie in well with that. I don't think anyone would really mind to be honest though! I would go with whatever timing works with other things in your day. xx

We actually forgot to cut our cake, ooppps. TOG did get pictures though of a mock cutting of cake.

Why not wait until the evening when all your guests will be there to see.

I usually tell my cake customers to do this at the start of the evening reception, it gives you evening guests a photo opportunity and a chance to share in a bit of the wedding tradition and then ask the venue to cut it up and put it out with the evening buffet
