when to send out invites

You need to confirm numbers 8 weeks beforehand???, what if something happens, what if something needs to be changed or someone can't come?, I thought it was normally 48 hours beforehand.

Anyway my answer to your question would be 12 weeks before the wedding but with confirmation of details 8 weeks before I might push for about 14/15 weeks before to giv e you time to chase replies.

Maybe send them mid to end of July? Can your venue not be flexible with final numbers? Ours has a time limit of 2weeks before the wedding and I thought that was bad enough.

I think people tend to send the invites approx 3 months before the wedding. Like twf said, sending them at the end of July would be enough notice for the guests!

We're confirming final numbers with the venue ca. 5 days beforehand. The invites hace been sent out last week (weddiung 19/09/09), but then we're havingf our wedding abroad and had to let guests enough time to book flights.

Maybe your venue just needs to know if you're confirming the wedding and will be flexible on final notice for the numbers?

I'd say about 12 weeks before, but if your venue needs final numbers 8 weeks before, I'd say sent them out early July

Wow we have to give final numbers a month in advance.....

so.... July/August would be a good time. We sent the day invites out first - giving them a 6 week to reply and then the evening ones have gone out and they due 1st june - 17 days before its a month to go....
