When to send save the dates?

I didn't send save the dates but i'd probably send them out about a year in advance so i'd leave it til October this year if it were me but don't know if others send theirs sooner if it's a school holiday etc. I'd say you're definitely ok to leave it a few months!

A year in advance should be plenty of time I would have thought.

I sent mine out at the year mark and then my invitations around 5 months before the wedding ;-)

We started looking at venues in july, sent out the STD's in the august and get married this august so yeah, I'd go with a year in advance.

I think if you know the date now then surely there is no harm in sending save the dates now?

If she sends them now, people will think it's 3/10/2014 (i.e. this year) even if it says 3/10/2015. People do not read ?

I'd wait for the year mark, but maybe just give a heads-up via email/text if people live abroad or need to plan annual leave well in advance etc.

I sent mine at the around 11 months to go stage.

We then sent invitations at the 4-5months to go stage.

We had let people invited from overseas know as soon as we did though so they had plenty of time to plan and book flights etc.

Im getting married may bank holiday weekend next year, and i have just ordered part of my save the dates and going to finish making them soon and hoping to send them out this may.. so again going for the year before mark.

We're planing to send them out with christmas cards, for a September 2015 wedding.

Thanks everyone think we will wait until neaer to the year mark...we do have a few people coming from overseas so will let them know now to give them plenty of time to save and make arrangements.
