Its never too early to send out your Save The Dates. Especially for a summer wedding.

I put them in with the christmas cards, saved on postage!

I was rather lazy and phoned people i really really want there and told them the date, this was about a year to the day i would get married give or take a few days... if you want to send them send them!

Send them whenever you want to - I doubt there is a right or wrong with these things. I've just texted people and told family via phone or when we saw them as I didn't want to spend more money than we needed to!

I shall add that my 'save the dates' were slips of paper shoved in their xmas cards, nowt fancy!

I was just going to text/email etc but found some save the date magnets on special offer and got 100 done for a tenner!!!! i couldnt resist

I think sending them out a year in advance is fine, like u say people may book their summer holidays sp u wanna get in first

I get hitched july 16th 2011 and i sent my save a dates 2 months ago....other wise people will book holidays lol

We got one on saturday for a wedding on 6th August next year and were pleased to have received it, it gives us plenty of time to plan especially as its quite a long way away.

Send them out now, especially if you have family who need to make travel plans.

I would send them now. Some people will book their next holiday as soon as they get back from holiday this year.

We're just in the process of sending ours out now as we're getting married in the summer holidays. Gave some out to family members yesterday and they were received very positively, especially since we're getting married on a Friday and some guests will have to book the day off work. ?

We're getting married July 9th and want to send out our STDs as soon as we've got a venue booked. We have our appointment to give notice on August 26th so we HAVE to have a venue down by then. The STDs will go out probably within a couple of weeks of that. We're making ours ourself too. H2B is designing a 'free lunch' voucher style thing. Watch this space for flashes!

We sent some out as soon as we booked the venue - 2 years in advance! I made some with posh paper and some stickers from Hobbycraft.

But my Mum made sure EVERYONE knows so we really don't need to do any more.

I didnt really do a save the date thing. I just sent an email to my relatives in other countries, and let them know incase they needed to plan holidays. But I dont see why you cant get them done now!! It is a summer wedding so people will maybe be starting to think about next years hols now of theres offers on!
