When to send save the dates out...

You can send them now if you like. Many people say to send a year in advance. They are not essential so if most of your guests already know about the wedding you can skip them completely.

I was thinking we'd send ours out about a year before (we're June 2017), but I've told a couple of people already who have said they've already got weddings booked in the day before & so on - so now I'm panicking that we should tell people earlier! I think I might send quite a casual email out to the really important people this weekend.

I think that general advice is to send them out a year before, but I don't see the harm in sending them earlier if you know your date before then (especially if it's a popular time of the year for holidays)! Starting with the most important people sounds like a good plan to me ?

We're getting married in Juky2017 and started handing ours out just after Christmas. We are handing them out as and when we see people though so some people haven't received theirs yet. X

We're not quite there yet but I was thinking to send out ours as soon as we've booked the venue.

We get married 27th May 2017 and we sent ours out with our xmas cards, mainly to save a bit on postage but as its a bank holiday weekend I thought a lot of people might book holidays for then. I don't think it matters if you do it early though

We are getting married on 1st August 2016 and sent our out last April

Our wedding is 10th September this year and we sent them a couple of weeks ago... though that reminds me I have a couple in my bag still to post - I'd better sort that at lunch! Maybe don't leave it quite as late as us, but you've plenty of time.

We're getting married on 29th July 2017 and have just started to distribute our Save The Dates We'll send out formal invites around December / January time....
