when to shop for wedding dress?

Go anytime and start looking. Try everything and see what suits u and feels most comfortable.

We started wedding planning in Jan last year and i accidently found my dress in may 2011 for my Aug 2012 wedding. Still love it and cant wait to wear it.

Regarding dresses, it's never too soon to look, some even need to be ordered a year in advance, just be careful not to rush it and regret which one you chose.. start looking online first I suggest to get a general idea, then go into a shop and literally try everything!

I'm August 2013 and I went shopping for a little looksie last August!

I found mine by accident just a few weeks after I got engaged. I bought it and have been wobbling constantly over it ever since. I'd say it's never too early, but don't rush into anything! I really regret not trying on more than I did.

I am waiting till at least June. the JA dress I love isn't out till then. Hopefully I will have lost another stone or 3 by then.

We are booked in for 31st Aug 2013 and I am going for my first dress shopping sesh on Saturday!!

If you are going on a saturday, I would recommend contacting the dress shop beforehand for an appt, I have contacted at least 5 this week and they are all book up for saturdays for this saturday and some even for the following saturday

We are getting married 28th May 2013. Although I have some weight I would like to loose I am not too optimistic as I have ME so can't exercise. So going to have a look at some dresses today, when I find 'the one' I shall order it in the size I am now knowing it can be taken in a bit (if I do manage to loose any)

My advice would be to begon looking, but with the intention to just try on and have fun at this stage. Firstly, you don't want to rush a decision like everyone else has said. But, secondly, it is hopefully the only time you will get to try wedding dresses on- so make the most of it and try as many on as possible!

I love my dress, and am happy with it, but I do wish I had tried some more on- just for fun though!

Hi, Im getting married July next year and went looking for dresses last year. Not intentionally to order one but just to try some on. After that i got the bug for trying them on and went to quite a few shops and then ended up ordering one. I had tried on ALOT of dresses though before I chose this one. Its due to come in to the shop in March so i will have it a year before my wedding. I think if you find one you really like then go for it. But like others said make sure you try alot of different dresses on first to compare.

I started looking straight away to get ideas, but my first visit to a bridal shop was 11 months prior to the wedding, and I bought my dress 9 months prior.

Im getting married May 2013 and I bought my dress October 2011. The shop that I got it from have 2 sales a year, my dress was £950 and I got it for £550!! Every little helps!! lol. I'm getting married in July 2012, and brought mine in July 2011. I only went to look, as I couldn't wait any longer, but found my dress on the sale rack, should hve been £1100 and I got it for £381. It's a gorgeous dress but there is no way I would have paid £1100!

I now have to be careful as I am dieting but don't want to lose too much before the wedding because the dress will only be able to be taken in "so far"

I can't wait to try it on again :-)
