When you give notice...

FelicityChaplin, 17 January, 2010 at 14:59 Posted on Planning 0 6

...what kind of questions do they ask you?

I remember when a gay couple I know gave their notice, and they said they were asked things like eachother's favourite films?
Is it the same kind of questions, or were they just pulling my leg?

I really have no idea what it entails. ?

They ask the most stupid of questions!

We were sat next to eachother and she said she would ask one of us the questions so D nominated me!

She said "what's your name", "who are you going to marry", "what does he do" and I answered them all. Then she looked at D and asked him the same questions about me! But he'd been sat in the rom the whole time so seemed a bit odd! ?

Yeah, that does seem a bit daft..
Anything else, or was that all you were asked?

If I rememer correctly then you had to answer:

    Your name, address, age, occupation

    OH's name, address, age, occupation

    Dad's names & occupations

And that was about it. Nothing out of the ordinary!

We were asked to go into the registras room seperately. its not like a game of Mr and Mrs, they ask if your related in any way, but eveything else is just questions for the marriage cert i.e what job he does, date of birth, if he has a middle name and how to spell his name.

We were in the room together as well which seemed quite daft. Still managed to get OH's job wrong (only one word different to the title he gave though)!

Just asked the same as the others though. Name, age, address and occupation

I didn't realise they do that so thanks for telling me!

I think they do it so that they know you're not an immigrant getting married to stay in the country or something...

(No offense to anyone that is an immgrant and genuely getting married).

Might be funny If I answer a question wrongly even though we've been together nearly 11 years!!

We were called in seperate, I went in first then OH went in. The registrar said OH wouldn't be in as long as me because I'd answered most of the questions for us both so she didn't need to ask him as many. I was in there for about 15 mins & OH was in & out in 5.

She just asked us about our jobs, full name, DOB, address & a few questions about our parents, that was it I think.
