When your wedding is getting very close...

Panjita, 4 May, 2011 at 09:52 Posted on Planning 0 30

Is anyone or has anyone else started seeing danger everywhere? I spoke to my family about it at the weekend and apparently, all of us have started being extra careful not to injure ourselves as the wedding draws ever closer. My Mum decided against going up the loft the other day "just in case" she fell of the ladder and broke her leg!!! lol.

I drive 50 miles a day on the motorway and every day lately I've been sticking to the speed limit, driving mega carefully and willing everyone around me to not kill me or injure me! It's getting comical!

I was going to mow the lawn but decided against it in case a stone flew up and hit me in the face!

Anyone else? (probably not, we are a bunch of weirdos!)

Good point, I always end up with a random bruise after a night out with the girls. A big bruise would look just lovely with my wedding dress. lol. At least my colour scheme is purple! ha ha ha.

In some ways yes.. Although my OH does a dangerous at times job so that will continue.. He almost electructed himself yesterday (3 phase machine not fun!)

At my brothers wedding myself and my other 2 brothers all managed to injury ourselves just before (I had a broken toe) my brother a sprained ankle and my other one dropped a plant pot on his foot.. as bridesmaid and 2 ushers we looked funny all trying to not let it effect my brother and SIL day!

Knowing my luck something similar will happen on our day!!!! Can you believe how close it is now Panjita????

I stood in the kitchen last night and shouted "OH MY GOD!!" H2B came running in to see what was wrong and I said "in less than 4 weeks I will have a new name".

    No, I can't believe it's nearly here. I can't believe I've actually had a hen party!?

I am so looking forward to being married Smiley smile

    How are you feeling?

I know little things keep dawning on me.. During my gym class last night it suddenly hit me that we have no free weekends between now and the day.. How did that happen!?

I am so excited tho - I am still in hope my Nan will make it she has been in hospital since January (I need to make the call to have her taken off the table plan!) I just don't want to!

My hen do is this weekend - yours looks like it was great fun!

I think my OH is planning a suprise honeymoon rather than our planned drive around France - I can't wait to find out where we are going! I have been instructed to book 2 weeks off work!!!!?

Last year I was BM and for about a month before I was really paranoid about getting any scratches or bruises on my leg - also the week before I had the chance to learn how to ride a proper motorbike (I'm a biker chick without the expertise lol) and I couldn't do it in case I came off and broke my leg or something!!!

No but I think thats because I can make danger out of anything. I was i CBM In plaster cast in march as I managed to fall downstairs and crack a bone in my hand 2 weeks before my friends wedding!

I hadn't yet, but I have started to get really precious about things like my nails, or doing anything at work/home that could scratch my hands. I've even had to refrain from playing with the kittens so much because they always shred my hands.

    Well NOW I'm worried! LOL!

My Maid of Honour is the absolute worst person for accidents... don't get me wrong, not big accidents or anything but she tends to fall over with alarming regularity and she ends up with big scratches/cuts/bruises/marks etc down her legs. EVERY summer. I just know she'll turn up to the wedding... in her SHORT bridesmaid dress... with scabby knees and bruises! Oh well, I'll just take the piss out of her if she does Smiley laugh

Actually... I visited her at uni once and we went out clubbing and got drunk. I lost her and only found her at 4 in the morning... with half her front tooth missing and no recollection of how this happened! She had to get it specially capped. I can just see this happening again, and my wedding photos now with my toothless MoH ?

Yes!!! All I have seen in the past three weeks is single magpies everywhere and so far the (only!) bad thing that's happened is that my car was written off. so I'm nervously waiting for two more bad things to happen! Smiley sad

My dad managed to break his foot a few weeks before my brothers wedding and spent the day in plaster on crutches. I'm praying he doesn't do anything like that for mine, although he has just had a minor op on his foot and has to have another! Seriously hoping it's all healed by August though!

My OH says its my family curse (v true!) so can't wait till I change my name and get the luck of the Irish! ?

I didn't until me and my friends planned a trip to Snozone the week after next. I just checked online how long a broken leg has to be in plaster for, and I might just have enough to time if the worst happens! x

I have been effing and jeffing at a stupid woman on the M5 today. Why do risky manoeuvres just to get one car in front of where you were before? Made me really mad! I don't want my airbag exploding and getting a smashed up face for my wedding day.

    ☹️

I've just heard that 2 people have been killed in an accident on the stretch of M5 I use every day. I was only there 30 mins before it happened. Really scares me.

I'm already doing it & I've got ages yet. I'm sooo clumsy and regularly end up with cuts, burns & bruises. In fact, I can't remember the last time my arms weren't bruised and I have no idea how I do it. I managed to cut my shoulder this morning and thought "hope I don't do that nearer the time" not a good look with a strapless wedding dress.

True, although when I am with my mum I have to.. I think she wouldn't know what to do with herself if I started saying the C word!!! Although I only use that when someone has really annoyed me which at the moment is often!!

I love the naughty C word, but as I have kids I can't say it very much.

I think the worst thing I've ever said in front of my mum is b*gger lolol and that was only after I'd moved into my own house and she was under my roof so my rules ?

My grandma never swears and is probably the only person I've ever known to actually use the word drat!
