I need some inspiration! I'm off work sick today so thought I'd spend the afternoon flicking through travel brochures n honeymoon browsing online and oh my god I've driven myself crazy! We have no set idea of what we'd like to do, it's currently been narrowed down to possibly a safari coupled with a beach stay, or just a general carribean type holiday/exotic type thing but I'm overwhelmed with choice!! We'd also considered fly drive to see some of America or doing a wine/foodie tour around Italy but we decided we don't want to be constantly on the move....so, where are you all going??

We're really struggling with this, I'd love to go to Italy but worried it will be too hot for us end of August.

Some of these trips sound lovely ?

Honeymoon was our biggest sticking point, we knew we wanted to go straight after the wedding in june and we ideally wanted to go long haul, but everywhere we looked was going to be wet season, and I know I would be so upset if it rained all day on our honeymoon, so after going round and round in circles we almost booked Italy visiting 3/4 stops only we couldnt decide which places we wanted to go and then OH decided he couldn't be bothered with the travelling and wanted to lie on a beach for 2 weeks - which suits me just fine! So then we picked Greece and we have booked a beautiful 5* hotel in Kos in a suite with a private sea view jacuzzi. It is all inclusive and we travel on the wednesday following the wedding on the saturday, which we picked to give us a couple of days to get straight after the wedding and get packed. I can't wait!!!

Restia suites in Corfu. Reasonable price for our own suite with pool and jacuzzi and day bed. Only 30 rooms and a meander to the tavernas.

I am off to Mexico for 2 weeks at the end of March - cannot wait!

Sorrento is lovely. Definitely go to Pompeii and Vesuvius and do the day trip to Capri! Everywhere I went to the food and wine were good. x

We are off to South Africa and then spending 3 nights visiting Victoria falls at the end of our trip. Going on Safari, winelands, whale watching & then some time in Cape Town. So excited, we get bored on beach holidays so this adventure suits us both perfectly Smiley smile

So many lovely ideas! Bride 2 Be 2015, South Africa is amazing, I did a varied trip like you including safari, whales and wine and I thought at the time it was a perfect honeymoon! My dream has always been Maldives but OH hates the beach so we're doing New Zealand for 20 nights - so over excited! We're doing a self drive in boutique B and Bs and small hotels.... April, so first month of Autumn, so should be ok weatherwise!

We're doing something similar to this - flying into Chicago, spending a few nights there, then driving route 66 to LA over 14 nights, down to san diego for a few nights, back to LA for a few nights, then onto Vegas for 3 nights!

Having won the OH round to my beach honeymoon dream, and with the generous gift of his parents, we are doing 2 weeks in the Maldives but a little while after the wedding at the end of April.

I am looking forward to snorkelling, a sunset cruise and just generally chilling out! I have fibbed to OH that there is no Wifi so that he'll have to tell work that he is totally out of contact for the whole fortnight!

Aberporth, an hour away from home for 2 nights in a lodge right by the sea. No tv, no kids just us.
We don't need fancy far flung holidays, just a simple couple of nights to ourselves Smiley smile

We have been exactly the same! Couldn't decide between safari or caribbean style honeymoon, I think we have decided now we are going to do Mexico..we are keen to start a family together soon after the wedding so thought it will probably be the last chance we get to have a totally luxury and relaxing holiday for a long time haha xxx

We were looking at Vadoo island in the Maldives, specifically for the glow in the dark sea that it has! But we'd want to go all inclusive with it being the honey moon and it was coming out at around £4k each. I just can't justify that for a holiday!

So we've been internet researching and have settled on Langkawi in Malaysia - a jungle honeymoon but looks fab I can't wait to book it

    Here you go ladies.

    Ristorante 'o Parrucchiano la Favorita - www.parrucchiano.com/en

    Ristorante Tasso - https://www.ristorantetasso.com/en/

Il Buco- https://www.ilbucoristorante.it/en/home/?lang=en - Michelin starred if you fancy a treat. Really really good food, great if you like seafood.

    Davide - http://www.davideilgelato.com/ - great for ice cream/sundaes/lunches

Fauno - https://www.faunobar.it/en/index - nice for drinks/people watching. Probably not the cheapest but good location to watch the day go by (I can vouch for the deliciousness of the Bellini's too)

Definately recommend Pompeii and Herculaneum, we also did a boat tour of the Amalfi coastline which was good for swim stops etc.

Sorrento itself is lovely, you’ve made a good choice for honeymoon destination! Any more questions just shout. ?

We did a Baltic cruise, started with a few nights in Stockholm and went to ports in Russia, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark and Germany, finishing in Hamburg. Weather was gorgeous, much hotter than expected, and there was so much to see and do in each port plus the ship was lovely for relaxing between times.

We waited 10 months to find the right itinerary among other reasons so had two mini moons between times - a weekend in Rotterdam straight after the wedding and a winter trip in the UK staying in a secluded log cabin by a lake. All were lovely - I'm sad I no longer have any honeymoons on the calendar!

Langkawi is my favourite place in Malaysia! Stay here: http://malibestresort.com/ - stay in a tree house for at least a night - JUST DO IT. The beach is amazing and we still talk about the best sunset of our lives that we watched from the sea. There was also an amazing restaurant called Rasa down the road which had fresh fish daily and a hilarious owner/manager. This was a number of years back though.

    I'm SOO jealous!

We can't wait, we've both always wanted to do a safari and I'm looking forward to it so much.

New Zealand sounds awesome, we did consider this too as one of our choices and I'm hoping one day we can get there as I would love to self drive and explore, such wonderful scenery, I'm sure you will have an amazing time.

To the OP if you do decide on the Caribbean option I would recommend St Lucia, beautiful beaches and so much to do. I went for 2 weeks last year (it was where we got engaged) and it was an amazing holiday and would be perfect for a honeymoon.

    Hi Bliss Balloons.

I went to Venice in August last year. Venice is amazing and super romantic. However it was crazy hot! No breeze either so everyone was just walking around sweating.....

    Something to think about perhaps

Wow, so many lovely places you're all off to! I've so far narrowed a little list down to 4 carribean-esque type places. Thanks for the St Lucia suggestion brides 2 be 2015, got a lovely looking hotel on the list there! We just need a couple of safari-beach suggestions to compare with but we need to speak to the travel agents about that. I phoned virgin yesterday who heard the word wheelchair and went into 'that won't be suitable' panic mode, bless em, and thomsons who were more helpful, although the woman seemed a bit dippy and forgetful and said she'd call me back but didn't but we'll go into the store Saturday for a chat instead!! Getting closer to deciding!!

    Disneyworld!!

I've been twice but OH has never been so we're going to Florida for a couple of weeks hopefully. Get the main parks and attractions done so we can get on the rides before we have kiddies with us!

We're a bit torn though, would love to go to Japan, but we're both vegan and as meat and dairy-centric America is, at least we speak the language and can communicate our dietary needs better!

Catbox - Not sure if you've looked into special meals or anything like that yet. But make sure you go to California Grill. It's at the Contemporary Hotel, which is across the road from the Magic Kingdom. It's on the top of the hotel with the most amazing view over the whole of the Magic Kingdom. We booked it so that we were there for my birthday and had timed it perfectly so that we could see the fireworks and the castle all lit up. The best meal we've ever had!
We also told them it was for my birthday, so they gave us a table by the window, free champagne and desert, we were truely spoilt!
It's quite expensive, but totally worth it for a treat! Smiley smile

Your honeymoon in Disneyworld will be amazing!

    xx
