Where are you honeymooning and who did you book with?

HCBao, 17 June, 2015 at 15:57 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 20

As the title says really, I'd love to hear where you're all off to, especially multi destination honeymooners! Who did you book with and if you don't mind, how much is it costing you?

We haven't gotten to the booking stage yet but are thinking about a Sri Lanka tour and then the Maldives for a big dose of R&R!

We're off to Singapore & Bali- 3 nights in Singapore and 10 in Bali. We booked through Thomsons but the trip is with Hayes & Jarvis and it's costing £2200. We're flying on Monday! Can't wait! I've never done two places in one holiday before nor have I done that side of the world so it'll be really exciting and an adventure!

We're doing Ubud and Lombok for 14 nights at £5,000. It's 5* top of the range all the way so I'm sure it could be found cheaper.

Definitely research weather before you go Smiley smile

We've just gotten back from Seoul, Hanoi, Siem Reap and Bangkok. We booked everything ourselves - flights directly with KLM and then hotels through hotels.com.

We arranged a couple of tours (to the DMZ in South Korea and a 2 day tour of the Temples at Siem Reap, but other than that just did our own thing etc.

I meant to say that all our flights and accommodation came to around £2200, and we spent around £700 while we were away (including food, tours, shopping etc).

    Hey - date twin!

I'm not nervous actually, just counting down excitedly now. We will have had just under an 18 month engagement and we've been together 7 years having always openly talked about marriage so it feels like I've been thinking about it forever Smiley smile

Our wedding isn't until 2017, but we're definitely going to Vietnam and Japan. We'll be booking through Inside Japan Tours, and their sister company Inside Vietnam Tours. It will be massively expensive, but it will be worth it. I'm sure we could probably shop around for cheaper deals with other companies, but I've used Inside Japan Tours for two trips to Japan now, and been seriously impressed with the service, so we're not even considering using anyone else. I'd rather pay the extra and use a company that I'm already familiar with, especially as neither of us speaks Vietnamese (although my fiance can more or less get by in Cantonese, which apparently is widely understood in Vietnam). I have a friend in Malaysia, so nearer the time we might see how much it would cost to stop off there for a few days as well.

We're going to Sri lanka and the maldives. Doing a 7 day tour around Sri lanka then 7 nights relaxation in the maldives.

Booked with kuoni, would really recommend them. The selection of hotels they offer are great and there's loads of little honeymoon extras in all of the hotels such as wine and fruit in the rooms, dinner on the beach. Our tip for the maldives would be to try to go all inclusive because you're a captive audience so if everything's not included the food and drinks cost will soon add up.

Hayes and Jarvis also offer lots of Maldives holidays that were reasonably priced. Trailfinders offer the multi centre but the hotels on offer weren't as luxurious as kuoni and customer service at trailfinders was shocking!

let us know where you decide x

We're doing 11 nights on the Gold Floor at the Fairmont Chateau in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada followed by 3 nights in Las Vegas.

We got an amazing deal through Ski Safari - if we tried to book the hotel room separately it would only be £1500 less than What we're paying for the entire trip (which also includes BA flights, transfers, lift passes and ski rentals).

We've just booked our honeymoon and its all I can think about!! Lol

We decided on a full on treat ourselves adults only resort in Mexico. Going to a 5* all inclusive resort for 14 nights and so will have virtually no spending money as absolutely everything is included. We booked through Blue Bay Travel and got quotes from various people and they were able to beat the price by far! The whole thing is expensive, £6000 but it's once in our lifetime =) That's including premium economy flights and transfers too.

    Good luck researching!

I'm a bit late to this thread but hey ho! HCBao, we're doing a Sri Lanka tour and then onto Goa for a week. We just went into Thomsons looking desperate and confused, we knew we wanted a multi-destination one if possible and to see somewhere we'd never been before. We've never been outside of Europe and so when asked which countries we liked our response was "all of them"! We were in the travel agents for 4 and a half hours ha ha!

Our rep booked us a tour which is four days, I think it is called Cultural Kandy and Tea, we get to see elephants, tea plantations, relics, temples etc. We have a day either side relaxing in Sri Lanka and then we fly to Goa for the second week. Although we booked with Thomson, the actual tour operator is Hayes & Jarvis, apparently they're very good? They got us a brilliant deal exactly in our price range too ? £4,200 for the lot. We're half board for Sri Lanka and B&B for Goa. We did want All Inclusive for the Goa part but they advised against this, as it is so cheap there.

    Hope this helps

9 nights premium all-inclusive in the Maldives. Sunset splash-pool water villa with access to the Island Club - exclusive bar and restaurant, priority restaurant booking, $100 each per day to use in the spa and complimentary trips/experiences. Flying business class, direct with BA. I think we booked with Kenwood travel in the end - we consulted with a few as we already knew what we wanted and exactly when we wanted to go so just needed to find an agent who could book it all for us.

The honeymoon is costing more than the wedding but it will be sooooo worth it for the holiday of a lifetime.
