Where are you spending your last night as a singleton?

I was just wondering what everyone else is doing. I'm leaving from my house and will get my bridesmaids to stay over the night before. People have asked why I'm not staying in a hotel, which i haven't really got an answer to, other than the fact I'd probably forget to take something really important...

is it the norm these days to leave from a hotel? I'm getting married in my local church so being at home just makes sense to me

We'll be going to the venue the afternoon before to put the finishing touches to the decor (it's about an hour away from our home and everyone else's home too). There will be about 11 of us meeting at the venue for a meal the night before and then staying over, although OH has decided that it will be more 'special' if we spend the night apart so he'll be bunking up with his brother who is the best man. I'm not complaining because it means that I get the bridal suite all to myself!

This really made me laugh as I know exactly what you mean - my OH luckily puts up with my ramblings too. I think he'd only stayed over with me a few times when one night I jumped out of bed at about 4am, stark naked, walked over to the window, opened the curtains wide and said "Oh look it's daylight already" before getting straight back into bed. I didn't remember a thing about it in the morning!

I'm staying in a hotel (a premier inn though, nowhere fancy). Mainly because we don't really have a 'family home' as such or house that's sentimental for photos, (and we live in a rented house we're looking to move out of shortly after the wedding). And also our house is a good 30mins from our venue (with no traffic) and about an hour from anyone else so it makes sense to be a bit closer. A lot of our close family are coming the night before so it'll be nice to spend the evening with them too.

I'll be at a hotel with my Mum, son & 2 bridesmaids and think OH will be at home with his best man.

Wanted a hotel room mainly for the photographer arriving, MUA & cars arriving etc figured it'd be easier in a hotel room than our small house & wanted to stay somewhere separate from OH anyway Smiley smile

I'm tempted to stay at home with my partner too as I'm a homely girl even going to my mums I feel bit nervous staying there the night ,

but will be getting ready at mums and staying in hotel with partner wedding night even though only a mile from home!!

I'll be at my mums - for purely practical reasons! For one thing, it's only a 5 minute drive from the venue; secondly, she has a large 5 bedroom house whereas we live in a 3 bedroomed terrace with a bunch of kids - so there's more room for me, the bridesmaid, the flower girls and the pageboys to get ready at mums; thirdly, the MUA is based in Mum's area and will therefore not charge fuel costs which she would if we were at home.

It's probably the only place in the world I sleep as well as I do at home and our venue is a country manor, not a hotel so doesn't have rooms for us to get ready in.

And, to top it all off, I'm a bit traditional in this one thing - I don't want OH to see me before we get married - I want him to have missed me just a tiny bit before I walk up that aisle ?

I'll be staying at my Nan's house which is nearer to the venue (OH and I live up North for work but we're moving back home to London 2 weeks before the wedding - stress!) Not sure if CBM will stay with me or not but we'll be at the venue by 9am to start getting ready

The traffic near our house is horrendous & I've been having nightmares about not being able to get there so I'm staying on a suite at the venue with my bridesmaids the night before.

Mum wants me to stay at home the night before. Our venue is a 45min drive away so I'm going to be up very early just to fit everything in. It will be worth it though, we usually nip to the local the night before a family wedding and it's always very emotional and fun. Can't wait!

I'm staying over at my parents house and getting ready there in the morning. As my only bridesmaid is my sister, she can be there too.

My fiancé is staying at home for the night, as it is walking distance from the church. His parents live about 200 miles away so it made sense for him to be the one at home.
