Where can I get a decent beanbag???

catcat, 7 June, 2008 at 19:35 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 10

Looking a buy a normal sized beanbag and wondered if anyone had bought one recently and could recommend somewhere... dont really want to get one from online unless recommended as you have no idea of quality etc.

Thanks

I'd say Wallace Sacks , although I don't know if there is an outlet near you.

However, their leather beanbags are gorgeous, soft, massive etc?

    ?

I am actually a beanbag designer... up until about 4 months ago I used to work for the company who supply Dunelm with their beanbags, and developed and sourced a few of them myself.

I now work for a web based bean bag store (www.beanbagbazaar.co.uk) (Sorry, please tell me if thats classed as advertising - I'll remove straight away!)

It really depends what you're aftet, I'm guessing a traditional shaped beanba. For example http://www.dunelm-mill.com/product/1573.htm has a fill of 6 cubic feet, and is designed for an adult. I would say that a child would 'sink' into it, but an aduct would perch on it.

Wheareas https://www.beanbagbazaar.co.uk//faux-leather-bean-bags/xl-bean-bags-faux-leather-cream/prod_100156.aspx has a fill of around 8 cubic feet and would be a more comfortable seat for a longer period of time IMO

I would happily recomment both from a quality point of view, I have inspected and had testing carried out on plenty of them!!

Alternatively there are more engineered shaped which are more suitable for certain activities, like gaming or nursing.

We got ours from beanbag bazaar and they're really good, if quite expensive.

It's weird because beanbags here are a completely different shape and design to beanbags in Aus and are much smaller.

This thread reminds me of when I was about twelve, and a 'friend' of mine unzipped a beanbag and shoved my head in it ?. It wasn't funny at the time.

I got my linen one from Next for £30. They do leather ones but I'm not sure how much they are (should say on the website).

What do you think of the next ones?? TBH, wasn't really thinking leather anyway.... and £30 is a bargain!

Yeah, my Next one is lovely. I've recently had to refluff it up with two little packs from Dunelm Mill (only £2.99 each), but we've had it a year and I absolutely batter it to get comfy and things, so IMO it's lasted really well and is good quality. I wish I didn't get cream though ?
