Me, hubbt and 3 yrd old have just had to cancel our week hol to fuerteventura due to H's work, so they are paying for us to have a week Mid oct, I want somewhere nice n warm and have a budget of circa £2k ( maybe a bit more as it is courtesy of his boss). Egypt is out I think as I know too many people who have had gippy tums and O is newly potty trained - I don't want any more accidents in the pants that we already have :-(.. so. where to then???

The Caribbean - the season is just warming up so prices will still be good. Antigua? St Lucia? St Kitts?

I am really tempted by the Carribean, but not sure if I can face the possibility of a long haul flight with a 3 1/2 yr old. Is the hurrican season over??

The site crashed in the middle of my reply before! ?

I was writing a long reply saying all the great things you can do in Brazil! I especially love Rio and think it is the best city in the world! Salvador is great as well. Go there, you will not regret it!

    CYPRUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I go in a couple of weeks with my family & have always gone in October (apart form the 1st yr we went in June & it was way to hot even for me & my easy tan skin)

We have been going on & off in October for the past 8 years & have found it lovely... not too hot, a bit cooler at night so we can all sleep & plenty of sunshine, plus its not so busy either (if you canavaid the half term hols)

We usually go the 3rd week in october & have never seen any rain yet... This time we are going a bit earlier in the month & are expecting it to be high 20's - low 30's as it has been in the past.

The beaches are lovey on Cyprus & we have not had a bad holiday yet.. Stayed in lots of different apts but this time we are in a villa with its own pool just outside of Protaras.

Children are welcomed in bars etc & the greek cypriots are such nice people

    hth

    Debbie

Just a word of warning - the weather in Cyprus this year is a bit different to how it's been recent years - we're having the 6th wettest September on record at the moment! Having said that, the sun still comes out every day and it is still around 32 degrees in daytime, so probably by mid-Oct it will still be warm, but perhaps not actually hot. My family came over at the end of October last year and it was a a bit too chilly to swim in the sea.

Cape Verde, Morocco, The Azores - all still very hot but not too far to fly! I'd also second the Carribean - I don't think the flight will be all that bad as only 8hrs ish - my brother has taken my niece a few times and it has been fine - hurricane season will just have finished.
