Where did you/are you getting your wedding ring from?

emmamac73, 14 March, 2011 at 20:50 Posted on Planning 0 16

Hi,

I have a pretty good idea of what I want for my wedding ring, princess cut diamonds, channel set in a white gold band.

Something like this....

https://www.fraserhart.co.uk/p-4612-18ct-diamond-eternity-ring-total-diamond-weight-027-carats.aspx

I think I've checked all the usual high street jewellers, H Samuel, Ernest Jones, Beaverbrooks etc.

Just wondering if I'd missed any? Or you guys could recommend anywhere?

Smooch - how much something like this cost?

I'm in the North West if anyone knows anywhere nearby?

Thanks!

Both of our rings are from Smooch, Ordered them 6 weeks ago last week but only gave our engravings in last week so think that's probably holding them up, oops.

Mine is Palladium with 5 diamonds and H2B's is 9ct gold, one third matt and one third polished.. hard to describe!

    They cost under £700.

Thats lovely, theres a smooch lady on here and she can normally point you in the right direction. From what they showed us when they came round they would probably charge more than that I think for that sort of ring. We diddnt go with them in the end but they have a large selection.

    This is mine (shameless hijacking!)

We got ours from a company called CoolJoolz whom we met at a Wedding Fayre. They're unusual in that they come to your house rather than you going to them. They also can let you design your own wedding ring if you can't find any design you like amongst what they have on offer. We went with them because we haven't found anywhere Celtic patterns in white gold, only yellow gold and we didn't like that. They are also flaxible with payments and they offer a very personal service, friendly and the communication is great!

    Hi,

We went to the Jewellery quarter in Birmingham. Got my ER from there, and it was half the insurance value!! The jewellery quarter is amazing. There is loads of independant jewellers who make stuff on site. They are reasonable prices as they dont sell to stores who make a profit on it. There are some "high street" type jewellers there so make sure you shop around for what you want. We were quoted free engraving, free patterns, and more! Def worth a trip if you are within reach of Birmingham! Happy shopping!!

We had a 10% off voucher fro Ernest Jones but even though I had my engagement ring from there they didn't do a wedding ring to fit with my ER.

We too went to Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, we got both our rings for a fraction of the cost of going to a High Street chain

    xx

    Hey - I got mine from Chapelle - www.chapelle.co.uk

They have a store at an outlet village near us. It should have been £450 but was £300.

mine is very similar to the one you have linked to, also from fraser hart

I found a lot less choice in princess cut stones than round, but wanted them to match my ER which is also princess cut. I liked this one as the band was a bit thicker than a lot of others i had seen and i didn't want my WR to be thinner than my ER.

Got my ER from Philip Stoner in Leeds but as it's a one off they didn't have any WRs to match it - searched all over the place for my ideal WR, had a design appointment booked at H Samuel's but on an impromptu trip to Harrogate one day with Oh I found my perfect WR and they gave us a 15% discount because OH works nearby ? it's gorgeous, they've engraved the wedding date inside for free too - can go and pick it up after OH gets paid and pays the balance, will flash when I've got it

Ours are from Neweys in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter. It was £200 and something (£220 ish?) for both - they are both plain palladium bands, his is 5mm and mine 3mm but I think I will change mine to 2.5mm.
