where would you suggest after a week in New York?

Hi,

H2B and I are looking at going to the USA for our honeymoon. To give a bit of background, neither of us have been to the USA before, we would like to go away for about 2 weeks and it has to be at the start of August ( I am a teacher). H2B is quite content to do nothing on a holiday but I like a bit of sight seeing. We were thinking of going to New York first for around a week to do some touristy things then wanted to transfer to somewhere where we could have a more relaxing beach type holiday with a bit of luxury. We dont really want a long flight in between, but would consider driving for a day to get somewhere but really have no ideas of where we could go.

Any suggestions?

Hi - we are getting married on 26th July and I am a teacher as well. Hubby to be has always wanted to go to New York so we are going there for 3 nights after the wedding then we are going to Mexico for 10 nights. We can't wait as it will be a mix between sight seeing in New York and relaxing on the beach/pools afterwards...pure bliss! Flight is about 4 hours though I think but not too bad from New York to Cancun, Mexico.

You can get to Florida on an overnight train from New York but in August it will be full of children! The Caribbean or the Bahamas aren't a long flight away or you could fly to Miami/Fort Lauderdale and go on a Caribbean cruise from there.

Hello, we are getting married in NYC in April and if I could, I would go to Cape Cod in New Hampshire/Massachusetts afterwards, it is so so gorgeous and in August would be nice a warm. The Whale watching is fantastic as well.

In NYC< take my advice, do not buy the city pass until you go as you may find you do not want to do all of the touristy things you get for the price and so spend more on the pass than you would on the individual prices.
