Currently undecided until we have an idea how much our final big expenses - dresses and catering costs (due to party numbers) - is going to be, and working from there with what we have left in the budget.

We're thinking possibly of an overseas trip somewhere, if not it'll be a few days in the hotel where we get married (New Forest) then either to the family caravan for a week (on our own!) or some other caravan park, perhaps one in Wales that I know.

Hopefully it'll be more than a couple of £19 nights in a Travelodge...

For the first couple of days as newlyweds we'll still be in Bali, but for the 'official honeymoon' part we're off to WA (Perth). Really can't wait! It's threads like these that make me all excited about it!

Ooooh, whereabouts in Bali are you off to?

We're staying in Nusa Dua for the majority of the time, then off to one of the smaller islands for a couple of nights

Oooh sounds lovely Mynnie! Are you doing the Gili Islands?

We're staying all 10 nights in Seminyak. I fancied doing a few nights in Ubud but H2B didn't like the idea of me uprooting him half way through our stay. We have booked one of those little boutique villas with a pool so should be lovely, although I must admit I have been panicking myself thinking that there are going to be lots of big spiders and creepy crawly things.... I think I've just been watching too much I'm a Celebrity - get me out of here!

BeckBoo - Where in St James are you going? You must go to Oistin's Fish Fry on the Friday. It's amazing! If you want a fabulous meal, go to The Cliff. Excellent food and impeccable service. The view is so beautiful it'll make you want to cry! Sandy Lane Hotel is worth going to for a few cocktails but having stayed there I found it was a little too 'American' for my taste. The diving is excellent, too.

We're off on a bit of a jaunt. We're finalising details this side of Christmas but the plan is (we think!) one week in Fiji, one in Tahiti, one in Bora Bora, one in the Cook Islands and two in New Zealand. We won't be going until the September though so will have a one week mini moon somewhere that Mr CB is organising as a surprise straight after.

We're going to Singapore for 2 nights, then Bali for 11 nights - 3 in Ubud and 8 in Sanur in a pool villa. We get married on a Sunday, get to spend Monday with our families before they all head back to their various corners of the country, then fly on Tuesday morning. Very excited!

We got enagaged there it is so beautiful and everyone is so friendly you will have a lovely time as CB said dont miss out on the fish fry at Oistins it is definatley worth the trip for and like nothing you would see in England and I would recommend taking the pimped up yellow buses to check out some of the other beaches there are some beautiful quiet ones al little way out of St James, we liked Mullins bay and there was a beautiful deserted one if you went our of town the other way but i cant remeber what it was called x

Thanks for the advice CB! I'm trying to convince my H2B that we HAVE to go to The Cliff but he's not convinced. Bah!

    We're staying here:

My H2B wanted a small hotel and I didn't care as long as I could take my Kindle with me!

    Your HM sounds amazing!

    April-bride - We're not, I don't think we'll have time.

We're also spending the whole time in one place, except for when we go off to get married. We wanted to stay in Seminyak but when I booked it, I didn't realise that Easter is so late next year - couldn't work out why we couldn't find any accommodation! We settled for Nusa Dua, and we'll use that as a base to see the rest of the island (I've had some fab recs for things to do, esp up towards Ubud) although how much time we'll actually have for sightseeing, I don't know. Once we get to Bali it becomes a whirl of wedding planning meetings, with visits to everyone from the British Embassy to the photographer, so we may need to be really selective about what we want to do☹️

I'm also really, really paranoid about all the bugs and creepy crawlies - esp after visiting OH's best mate in Oz earlier this year and encountering my first flying cockroach! It didn't help that I overheard said friend ask his wife how the hell I expected to cope in somewhere like Bali if I couldn't deal with the Aussie wildlife?

When are you out there? We get there on Easter Sunday (perfect timing!), but I think there's a few girls on here who'll be out there at roughly the same time - and I still reckon we should make all the OH's go off somewhere while we have an impromptu Hitched on Tour meet!

We are off to the Maldives for our main honeymoon for 2 weeks in November after our wedding in June.

We would like to go for a minimoon for a week after the wedding in June but also normally go somewhere for a week with H2Bs kids and have decided that we cant afford to do both so rather than us having 2 holidays and the kids missing out we are thinking of going to the Alton Towers hotel for a few nights and taking the kids with us so they can spend a day in the park and a day at the waterpark, which they will love !

You must go! It's well worth the money! I'd put it in the top three meals I've ever had. I had a friend who split her honeymoon between Crystal Cove and Lonestar and said they were both beautiful.

The beaches are amazing but you will get people trying to sell you things. In Barbados, all of the beaches are public so regardless of whether you are sunning yourself outside of a falling down shack or a swanky hotel, you'll not be exempt. If you tell them you'll buy at the end of your holiday you'll get a lot more peace and quiet. Take a decent insect repellant too.

Drink lots of rum punch. Jewellery is also much cheaper out there too, so push for your eternity ring whilst there ?

Had a re-think and rather than going to St Lucia and risking rain/hurricanes... I have looked at these, has anyone been and if so any feedback??

Both of these are in the Dominican Republic - either Gran Bahia Principe Ambar or Blue Bay Villas Doradas... x.
