Which hand cream do you use?

Nellie the Elephant, 26 January, 2009 at 19:21 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 25

Or can you recommend please?

My hands are looking a bit dry/old - I don't know if it's because of the cold or just that I'm getting old. ☹️

I seem to spend most of the winter slapping hand cream on, else my hands dry out and crack and generally look awful.

Having tried quite a few different makes my favourite is Neutrogena's fast absorbing hand cream. It really does asbsorb fast, rehydrates your skin and leaves your hands lovely and soft. I've got tubes of it in my handbag, my desk at work, at home......all over the place really.

I have to use hand cream but cannot stand anything that leaves a greasy film on my hands. It makes me gag!

So I use L'Occitane shea butter hand cream every day and find that it does the trick. I did get a free Kiehls sample which is also quite nice, but not as good as the L'Occitane. I also use their shea butter foot cream which is lovely.

Neutrogena for me too. It doesn't make my hands greasy and I really like it. I think with most things like this it is trial and error for what suits your skin though.

both of which are fab and you dont need much of (though I always use more than it says of the neutrogena one as it doesnt seem to go as far as it says)

I use E45. It can be a little greasy but my hands get really dry and this one seems to work for me.

I'm using the Elizabeth Arden 8hr Hand Cream at the moment and it's been fab. My hands were a mess down to pretty constant hand washing after having a baby.

I rub in a skoosh of baby oil ( I also put a little bit on my lips) before I go to bed. If I forget my hands are awful the next day.

I've used Vaseline intensive care for nails, as I have very brittle nails (obvious link there.) The other thing I do is use normal vaseline, last thing at night. That's really helped stop my hands getting really dry and cracked.

I love L'Occitane the best but the packaging is no good for carting around in my handbag, so I have some Lush Helping Hands in my sac magique which is also very good.

I find Neutrogena takes 100 years to sink in, by which time I'm booooored and fed up of it

I am loving the Body Shop's Hemp Hand Protector. I have really sensitive skin and eyes and this doesn't irritate me at all and works a treat on my hands. Their Hemp Foot Protector is really good too.

I really love Nivea and use it all the time on my face and hands. I also have numerous tubes at home/work/car/bag etc!

I have L'occitane in my drawer at work, and have Elizabeth Arden 8 hour for hands in my bag.

I find both are really good, and prevent me from having scaly lizard hands.

I spend most of my working day in latex gloves and find E45 good for softening my hands.

Ooh, thank you all. It certainly seems that a few brands keep cropping up.

I've got a little list now, so will start with Neutrogena I think and see how it goes.

I'll have hands like an 18 year old very soon! ? Well maybe not, but hopefully they won't look like my Granny's for much longer!

    Thanks again.
