White or Diamond White?

l.jo-swansea, 30 August, 2008 at 15:31 Posted on Planning 0 1

I have finally chosen my dress after a very long search and decision making process. It's White Rose style 370. I now need to officially order it but am unsure whether to get it in white or diamond white. The sample I tried is Diamond White but I am worried about matching up a flower girl dress with it and bridesmaid dresses that i have liked come with white or ivory sashes on them. However, I sometimes think a white dress can make it look cheaper even though the shade does suit me.

What does everyone think?

Generally speaking, diamond white is just a pale ivory, so you'd have ivory shoes, ivory veil, and ivory flowergirls. Some ivory flowergirl dresses match great with diamond white dresses. Others are a little on the creamy side - but it all depends on the exact shade of ivory the manufacturer uses.

The name 'ivory' can be used to refer to anything from the palest ivory (called diamond white by some other manufacturers) to really creamy ivory, almost verging on champagne.

White will be VERY white, and doesn't suit everyone, so be sure that you look really good in a WHITE white before you go down that route. Lots of girls we see think they want white until they actually try it on, then find that diamond white/off white/dark white is actually the colour they had in mind!

I think basically you should choose what suits YOU, rather than what will be easiest to find matching items for.

Thanks, the diamond white dress does suit me as do the white white ones. My mother and CBM prefer diamond white (they think the white white dress shades make dress look a bit cheap but neither a ivory or white flowergirl dress matched with it.

I think I am going to go for diamond white as that is the colour i tried on when i fell in love with the dress but I just don't want everything else to be so difficult to match around it...
