Who Are You Chasing?

I've been chasing my florist for quotes for the last four weeks and the registrar for approval of our vows for over 3 months. Getting quite fed up!

    Haha! I am going to have to chase some of those too, although they are only evening RSVPs, so not as much of an issue.

    Currently chasing the church!! They've pencilled me in but apparently they've still got few questions to ask before they can confirm and I've been chasing them up for about 3 weeks! Getting rather irritating as I cant book the reception venue or anything unless this is sorted!

    Chasing our chair cover supplier - I think I emailed the wrong email address, so over the weekend I tracked down 3 other email addresses and sent emails to all, plus left a phone message (fortunately have landline and have a postal address for her).

    I paid via paypal so if necessary will claim money back, but the price I got was so good and includes return courier (£125 for 100 covers incl. sashes) I know I won't get another price as good, which is why I booked this one up so many months ago! Argh!

    Also chasing car company but only to pay - everytime I catch them, they're out on a job so I can't pay over the phone! We've sorted all details though so it's just paying the final balance.

    I recently had this problem. I fixed it by contacting about 10 other florists, one of whom 'got the job'. The other florist has lost out and they know it.

    You DO NOT NEED the added stress of chasing a supplier over a quote for this long - it seems basic curtousy (i.e a quick email update or phone call) goes out the window for some suppliers.

    How long until your wedding?

    If you've still got a few months and you feel you can rely on them, then give them a chance. Otherwise, I would find someone else who would give you the level of customer service you deserve.

    Just over 5 weeks! The problem I have is that the table centrepieces are included in our package with the venue by this particular florist. I thought it would be easier to also get my bouquet, the bridesmaid bouquets, the button holes and the cake flowers from her too. If I haven't heard from her by the end of the week, I'm going to speak to my friend's mother, who is a local florist.

    I am in the same situation, we have got our table flowers in our package and decided to go with the same florist so she could match them together,but her lack of communication is rather frustrating as well. I think I am going to contact the venue soon, as she is a recommend supplier of theirs and see if this makes any difference.

    That's what I did this morning Anneka, and they've said they have chased her. No response as of yet though. I'm to let them know if I haven't heard anything in a couple of days time.

    I'm chasing our potential venue, and not for the first time unfortunately ☹️ I've asked them for available dates in 2013 for when we see the vicar on Saturday, but I've still not heard anything despite a phone call and email. It's making me slightly wonder if it's a sign of things to come, but I have seen recent glowing reviews of the venue and wedding coordinator, so I'm hoping it's nothing to worry about.

    I hope you get things sorted with your florist soon RB. You don't need the added stress of people not getting in touch! It frustrates me that little bit more because in our line of work, poor communication is completely unacceptable and my job would be on the line if I didn't reply to my clients to the point that third parties had to chase me as well!!

    I"m currently chasing my string quartet... I booked them quite early and comms were good at that time. BUT their final invoice and forms to write down my music choices were supposed to come to me on or around 5 May. Not a peep! People aren't usually backwards in coming forwards when money is owed, so I'm surprised not to have heard anything. Plus I need to confirm my music to the registrar and want to be sure that what we've picked is in their repertoire. I've told the registrar anyway, but it's just playing on my mind as the page on their website which has their repertoire list is broken. Rest of the site works but the list won't load. I've sent another email asking them when I need to pay/when they will confirm the choices are ok so fingers crossed they reply soon! We've only booked them for 2 hours so I worry they've had a more lucrative offer...

    Plus... this sort of thing turns me into the sort of person who *wantsareplynownownow* when I've sent a chaser email. Normally I'm more laid back, right now I'm RARGH!
