Who gets an invite?

Linziloo84, 9 December, 2011 at 11:28 Posted on Planning 0 12

This is probably going to sound so stupid but do you give your bridal party invites to the wedding? ie ushers and bridesmaids, bestman etc?

It seems strange as they are obviously going to be there on the day anyway but my mum seems to think they should have one?

Any answers?

I'm going to give them invitations, I wouldn't want them to feel left out! When I was a bridesmaid in August, I got an invitation sent through the post and RSVP'd.

I am giving everyone an invite, even the parents, the bridesmaids and the users.

I want them all to have an invite because I have made the invites and am quite proud of them.

I'm sending invites to everyone. They're worded from us as a couple, so won't be weird sending to my Mum

I'm sending to everyone including parents. Although I imagine this could be a bit weird if your doing the 'Mr & mrs x invite you to the wedding of their daughter y to mr joe bloggs'

I am sending to everyone. Not only is it a nice keepsake for them (well, the girls anyway), our invitations (for a wedding abroad) contain a lot of information about what's happening during the weekend.

Thanks everyone I know what I need to do know lol!

    Next question is......

How do you address people on their invite?

I won't have enough room to do it formally and put Mr. and Mrs etc etc

My query really was with the single people?

Would you put just Rebecca and thats it or would you put her surname?

We aren't putting surnames on the family invites as tbh the line isn't long enough lol!

and we aren't putting plus guest either as tbh if we don't know their partner by now, with 5 months to go then we aren't really going to know them well enough by the wedding, the single people we are inviting will understand why we have chosen to do this as most of them are family members cousins etc...

    Same!

And we are having that wording... I just said to the Mothership last time I saw her, are you inviting yourself? She didn't see the funny at first, but at least I confirmed she would like an invitation as a keepsake!
