Who had the pooing cat?

Pittabre, 8 February, 2013 at 21:40 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 29

I have the randomly weeing cat. I had heard that cats don't excrete where they eat so if you have a cat that is defecating/urinating somewhere you don't want it to, put a bowl of food down there. I have only done it for the last 24 hours but so far it has stopped them weeign in one place. Hopefully I will be trying it out in other places and it should stop the urinating everywhere. It might help you with the pooing?

Just discussed this with mrmini. One of our babies keeps pooing by the back door. My only concern is that they will now poo elsewhere?

AFAIK they haven't weed elsewhere. They are cat trays available for them to use. But we have an enemy cat weeing at the front door and they are weeing inside the front door in response. So haev put food there. But I don't know whetehr they are weeing elsewhere - I bloomin hope not!

TBH I really wish they were pooing than weeing as poo is easier to pick up and clean without a trace, whereas wee tends to soak if not discovered asap!

Would they not be pooing by the back door because they want to go out? Maybe put the litter by the back door?

Agree. Poo is easier to clean up. It's right next to the tray though. Lazy buggers. Can't wait to move so we can face a cat flap and do away with the trays.

My poor Pops has become a more or less completely indoor cat since this horrible horny bast@d cat has moved in next door. Yesterday I was speaking to some salesman at the front door and the little sod ran in my house and straight up the stairs! She was petrified, she got on top of my wardrobe in my hat box.☹️ Its mental. I sent the salesman up to get it, it was his bloody fault!

My Mav is a carpet pooer but it seems to be if the litter tray has a poop in it. Weirdo.

B had a word with the man next door before and he more or less laughed him. He said, oohh he's only being playful, he just wants to play with her. D1ck head. I hate them, their cat, their music aaaargh! Sorry total derailment.

That's because some cats can be very fussy about their litter tray & prefer it very clean. I know it's difficult being at work but try and clear the tray of solids everyday & see if he improves. We also have 2 trays.

The problem with cats going on the carpet (particularly a wee) is that they leave a smell behind & once they've used a place once they will go back & it can be quite difficult to get rid of the smell.

Loftus is a pooey cat but that's because he has a sensitive tummy.

When he's poorly he poos behind the TV cabinet. Not. Cool.

I am spending a small fortune on this special spray that is supposed to neutralise the smell. Supposed to.

Maybe the case. My previous cat Foxy regularly suffered from cystitis & every time she had it she would wee on the carpet because she was associating the pain with the litter tray. Maybe try & monitor it & see if it's after eating a particular food - maybe something doesn't like him.

Mine do that! Paddy will urinate in the bath or the shower so I am mainly blaming the others for the weeing.

Harrycat pees in the sink or in the cooker. He won't pee in a tray. It's annoying but at least it's easy to clean up when he does it there.

Pittabre I don't know if it will work with cats but we were advised at puppy training to wash any area inside where our puppy had an accident with biological washing powder. Apparently it removes the smell and is just as good as any sprays you can get in a pet store.

Do you know I automatically read it as the shower rather than the cooker. I am hoping it was a typo!

Thank you but it happens too often for someone as lazy as me to get on the floor and scrub every time it happens? I'd ratehr use the cleaner and the spray!

This is standard. At least ours only poo on the kitchen floor. Lino is much easier to clean than carpet.

I think he may need to go to the vet PP, he could have issues?

Mental issues? Definitely. His poo was normal (thank god it wasn't a squishy one on the carpet) and he actually came to find me after he'd done it. He was meowing really loud as if to say 'Look what I did Mummy'.

Moby sometimes wees in the sink or bath. He doesn't like his box and has pooed in the bath from time to time. He always comes and gets you as well!

Bragging a bit here. I am very lucky in that Poppy has never weed or pooed outside her litter, apart from the first 2 days I got her when she was 6 weeks old and I was still teaching her. Whilst we were in Barcelona my Mum was coming in to feed her. She came in the morning and accidentally shut the downstairs loo door where poppys litter is, poor thing crossed her legs till 5pm when Mum came back to feed her again. She legged it straight in there and relieved herself as soon as Mum opened the door the little love. ️⭐️ For Pops.
