    1. No money
    2. Hate myself on film
    3. Think it would make me feel a bit uncomfortable, not sure why
    4. Would never watch the wedding video as don't even get time to watch films these days ha!

All of the above are meant with no offence to those people who are having their wedding filmed. Just not my thing that's all :0)

    We aren't having one.

We had quite a few reasons for this but basically we hate watching ourselves on video and would find it totally cringeworthy! We decided we would rather spend the extra money on getting the best photographer we could find. We also figured that it was a lot of money for a video we would probably watch only a handful of times (although I'm sure there are others who would watch theirs more but this was just a personal feeling).

However, we do want some form of video reminder of the ceremony so are going to ask a family friend to video it. Yes, I can hear videographers cringeing at the thought but for us we are really not bothered about it being the best quality etc, we just want a wee visual/auditory reminder that is cheap and cheerful.

I can quite catergorically say that your 4 reasons are the same as ours - did want one originally as OH is from NZ and her gran would not have been able to make it, however she has since passed away and there really isnt any need :-)

My OH is a Kiwi too! Well, his Dad is. Are you honeymooning over there then?! I would love to but unless I win the lotto between now and then there's a fat chance.

I can't even stand the idea of posing for so many photos but suppose I will have to... Remember that Friend's episode where Monica and Chandler are posing for their engagement notice and Chandler's smile is just... rubbish?! Well that's what my fake smile looks like. Argh best get practicing!

Not honeymooning as wont be able to afford it, but will be going over the following year for a month or so as we ideally want to move over eventually, but have to see if i like it first. She has been here 10 years so is getting itchy feet to go home!

Yeh its the gritted teeth smile and you just wish you could crawl into a hole moment! lol

Ooh lovely, I'd move over there in a shot if I could drag my Mum there too. I bet she's got itchy feet being in this country in this "summer" we are supposed to be having!

We're not. Our vicar won't allow it and it seems daft just to have it for the rest of the day. We do have a fab pair of photographers though ?

I did fancy it but wanted an old cine camera, with crackly film etc. A videographer at a wedding fair said he could do the same effect n all for about 2k. Pfft, sheah. No.

Hubby didnt want it filmed, he wanted to just have the photos and remember the day himself. The he recently said he only remembers the ceremony and cant recall the reception or nuffin lolol.

We're not paying for one, as 1) we simply don't have the money and 2) H2B hates seeing himself on film even more than I do (and that's saying something!)

However my auntie will be filming for free and we'll see if we ever watch it or if she'll keep it for her private collection ?

This. Basically a matter of prioritising the budget. The most important thing for me, next to actually marrying my dear OH, is to have lovely photographs to remember it by Smiley smile

    We arent

essentially we thought e would never watch ourselves on a video and and I don't like myself on film, OH wanted a really nice photographer so we choose to spend our money on that as felt we would get more out of photos in terms of lasting memories.

    PS

Edited to say TeeHee we looked at gettin git done on super8 film but it was way to expensieve its on my lift for if I win the lottery

We wont be having a videographer.

I think it would be a waste of money for us, as we would hate being filmed. We'd rather use the money for a photographer. I have a DVD from my 21st party which I've watched once as it's so cringeworthy as it was a surprise.. Then I was proposed to on camera and ughhhh I hate it! Thankfully my sister has the only copy and will hopefully one day lose it!

My Sister had her wedding video'd and I wasn't impressed with the DVD at the end. Badly edited and went on wayyyy too long. The close ups of me crying in church were bloody embarassing too, especially as I didn't know they'd zoomed in on my damn face!! For £20 per copy of the DVD for anyone that wanted it too, I thought it was too much.

    I echo these ...!

I think it would be nice if we ever had kids to show them a wedding video, but for us we want to spend the money elsewhere like on wine and entertainment! x

I would love a videographer however it's another expense and we just can't afford it, we're going to ask someone with a video camera to film the important parts, the ceremony, speeches, first dance etc x

We aren't having one for much the same reasons as everyone else. 1. can't stand seeing myself on film 2. cost 3. we went to a friends wedding and they had a vog and it made things really stilted and uncomfortable for the guests, as soon as the camera was on us or a group of friends chatting everyone stopped their conversations and things felt embarrassing.

Same as the majority of you really - we can't afford it and I hate seeing/hearing myself on film anyway. Am already struggling with the idea of having cameras in my face all day as it is ?

But OH is going to ask a friend who is a work colleague to film it for free - they both work in the editing/technical media business, so who knows what wonders he will be able to come up with! ?

We decided not to have one done as it was soo expensive (about £1800).

So were just going to encourage those with camcorders to bring them along and see how it goes.

We're not either. We're also not hiring a photographer but having a friend (who luckily happens to be a mega talented photographer anyway!) do it for us. I have a really good videocamera though so might ask someone to film bits of the day. Not decided yet!

    Me!!!

    I think its:

    1. Another expense (and our budget wouldn't stretch to it!)

    2. I hate hearing my voice recorded!

    3. I want everyone to relax and people are already having to pose for photos without having another camera in their face.

    4. I'd probably watch it once and then it'd simply gather dust! I was at the wedding after all, and my photos will be my lasting reminder.

    x

Well we were going to have one as a couple of people had said we would regret it if we didn't. But the guy i had arranged coming to see us on Wednesday has just cancelled but said he could recommend somone else! Something isn't sitting right there! So now i am thinking, do we really need one? I will talk to my OH when he gets home and see what he wants to do. TBH i'm not overly fussed now and i also HATE the sound of my own voice!!
