I think I might be out of favour with Cricks - she used my full name earlier, like to a mother being "disappointed" with an errant child.

I'm always in a quandary about what to call you on WP. I think people won't know what I'm talking about if I call you Footlong but anything else is just weird and formal.

I think this too, and usually just go for 'FTLOMB' as I don't feel I have been around long enough to use the old name. I think FTLOMB may have been Footlong when I first joined but was too much of a newb to speak to the regulars.

Oh that's why! I've been here 2 years and I always thought it was because your name was too long and didn't fit on the screen. Well I've learnt something today.

I didn't know this was the reason, I thought it was because your avatar used to be a footlong with cheesy biscuits for wheels! I feel a bit stalker-ish now, that's what comes from lurking for AGES.

Saspip, how brilliant of you to remember! My first avatar was a banana with cheesy biscuits for wheels and when the Footlong nickname looked like it was sticking, I changed it to a footlong (Subway sandwich, for those who never saw it) with cheesy biscuits for wheels.

When I first saw it I misread it as FTLOBM and pronounced it as "footlobomb" which has now stuck in my head. I'm now wondering if I mentally say other people's usernames wrong, I think I need to read things more carefully.

Carve. I toyed with maybe, as a joke, starting to call you Charv, which, given your provenance, you'd 'get'. But almost certainly not 'like'. And it isn't true.

Wahahaha! But it would have been oh so true 15 years ago.

It's odd isn't it? I? say k-harv in my head.

My iPhone knows Footlong as a proper noun now and capitalises it, even when I don't.

I misread the abbreviation as FTLMOB initially, and so in my head for ages you were "Footlong Mother of the Bride" which is just a whole new realm of weird. ?

Funkyjames it was only very recently I found out you're a man! Even though it's pretty obvious that your name is James...

I used to literally picture OB as an old bear, so it came as a surprise when I found out she's in her early 20s. And I'm recently coping with getting my head round the fact that JoJo85's real first name isn't Jo!

I assumed Old Bear was a middle aged OM, kinda like I remember my nan when I was younger.

I used to call Footlong fft-lomb, but got the Footlong thing when I first saw it because I mis-read it as ftlomb anyway.

I thought Funkyjames was a girl too and I had no idea JoJo85 wasn't Jo.

I also say carve, although I guessed it was K-Harv and wondered if it was actually Harv or just short for Harvey or something.

People have written mine as tiny tottori, but it's actually tot Tori. It's a dumb nickname I had from an ex when I was about 14 because I was so much shorter than him. I'm also very ticklish, so I was totally ticklish tiny tot Tori. Totally irrelevant but his was dopey dupper David, because he was really quite stupid Smiley smile we liked alliteration, we use to do it for everyone.
