Why do people leave it so late??? rant alert

yummymummy05, 7 October, 2010 at 20:38 Posted on Planning 0 13

Sorry ladies, but i feel i need to get this off my chest.

Its my hen night tomorrow and i've booked 12 tickets as thats how many people said they were coming. I've since had 2 people drop out. 1 was a mate from school that i've kept in contact with. She is just not returning my messages so have just taken her off the list. Luckily i managed to find someone to take her place. I have now been told TODAY that someone else cant come because she wont be able to afford it!!! She hasnt even paid for her ticket. Well thanks for leaving it this late to let me know and giving me SOME notice! ? pi**ed off is the not word

Are people just out to annoy me and ruin my night?

No need to reply, just need to vent

It's not just you - I have to "pick up the mess" all the time of people letting me down for things and it annoys the hell out of me.

Unfortunately a lot of people don't realise that a "commitment" to attend an event is just that - not just a vague expression of interest.

Sure, emergencies happen, but I'm sure a realisation that she "can't afford it" would have happened a while ago. How much are your tickets, out of interest?

    Oh no! Thats poo!

Some people have no idea how hard organising things can be! ?

Don't stress too much though, at least you know your real friends will be the ones there - the ones that dont come aren't worth the worry! Smiley smile

    Thanks Ladies,

Tickets are £15, so its not like i'm asking for a fortune or going somewhere strange. I'm going to the city centre for gods sake!! Its not like i'm asking them to spend hundreds and jump on plane somewhere! It just bugs the hell out of me when people let you down so close to the event.

Oh I'm so so sorry cosmo. People can be right a**es sometimes, makes you wish that you'd never invited them in the first place!! Hope it doesn't ruin your night though, forget about them and enjoy yourself!

    xx

Oh dear thats so rude of them!

TBH I'm expecting ppl to drop out as I know some of my work 'friends' are useless and do let me down a lot. So I've told my sister to get money off them up front so no-one is out of pocket if they cancel.

At least the people that matter have made the effort. Thats what I'll be telling myself! Dont let it ruin your night.

Is there nobody else you could ask? Maybe they aren't quite so good a friend but if they pay for the otherwise wasted ticket, then that's half the problem solved Smiley smile

    If it wasn't for the facts that a) I'm a guy, b) I'm busy the weekend and c) I'm 200 miles away I might consider it ?
