As soon as your married people expect you to start having babies. i know its the next step but iv only been married 3 weeks and iv had at least 5 people ask me if theres going to be a baby soon or if im trying. give me a bloody chance.

we dont want just yet, id love 1, but we aint in that place where we are ready, want to redecorate the house, clear some debts and save some money before we do. so probably looking at a year down the line maybe 2.

its just so annoying! anybody else had this?

Not married yet but the Vicar did ask if I was pregnant when we went to ask him to marry us [rofl]

He said nowadays it's not as common to see young people so in love that they want such a religious and meaningful ceremony, unless they have or are expecting a child.

Yes it is rude, very rude.

My repsonse would be one of the following:

"not sure when really , and when we do You'll be the First to know of course, we may actually invite you to the conception party if you are that lucky!"

    or

    "no idea, now piss off"

    or

"don't know, on that note, when are you going to loose some weight"

    That'll shut em up!

I actually had people ask me at our wedding reception, so I know how you feel, as much as it is seen as the next step, not everyone wants children, and not everyone wants children the second they are married! Me and my hubby would love to be parents, we are also going to try and clear some debt first before we try, it will be nice to be married for a little while first though!!!

When I got engaged and we were letting everyone know the good news, the first thing everyone said was "You're not pregnant, are you?" I just found that really insulting, what kind of a thing is that to say to someone?

I can kinda beat that - when I told one friend I'd got engaged she said "Whatever you do don't get pregnant, you can still change your mind".

We've already got a daughter but we had the question the other way round. When she was born, people were asking 'so when are you going to get married then?'. It's so annoying and it's such a personal thing to ask, some people dont want children and other people cant have children.

My mum says whenever someone asks you a question you dont want to answer, just smile at the person and say 'why do you want to know?' and they normally cant answer back. Either that or just say 'nosey arent we?'. Gets the point across.

It's just as bad once you've had a kid - everyone asks 'when are you going to have another one?'
