We have just started working on our bedroom this weekend, as we have restored the rest of the house except the 3 bedrooms. So we are sleeping on the mattress on the floor in the front bedroom. Our bedroom is 1st with the main jobs being new skirting etc and moving the light. Then we have found on removing the skirting boards the old fire place has not been blocked up properly so how much soot!
So with the destruction work nearly over and the woodchip nearly removed. The picture rail is looking clean with no paint it is time for hubby to start his bit or hard work. All I am aloud to do is varnish the picture rail and treat the floor boards for the dreaded wood worm.
Our house though is a 1930 house, and ours bedrooms have the lights of centre and the door opening into the room. Rather than being central and the door opening against the wall like newer houses. Does anyone know why they did this in houses? t is something which I have always found strange and you always hear people saying we have had to move the light etc.
TIA
