Why, why, why, why????? (cringe)

Sparkley, 15 August, 2008 at 11:20 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

Out with work last night to say goodbye to old boss and hello to new boss - had a few bottles of wine as you do.....

I was chatting to new boss and told her I used to have singing lessons - which is true - and that I was really good at singing opera - which is not true. Why I said that I have no idea.

She then tells me she loves opera - oops! There was a really good pianist in the restaurant so she asked me to sing some opera..... I said, yeah, no problem! So stood up, made up some words and sang opera stylee ? When I finished I got a huge round of applause from everyone in the restaurant!

Do you think I could become the next Maria Callas?????? ?

Getting hammered with work colleagues is baaaaaad - last week on another night out I said to old boss - 'So, which one if us fcuking cnuts is going to be made reduncant next' - pure class Sparks, pure class. Luckilly he roared with laughter and sent me an email the next day to say I made his night with that comment! I was expecting a P45! ?

Oh that's funny. Maybe it's the start of a whole new career for you as a singer ?

I once told people on a night out when I was drunk that I knew how to pour a pint of guiness with a shamrock in the top (I didn't) but then it was all I could do to stop them asking the barmaid if she'd let me have a go ?

Not work colleagues, but went out with S and his friends after a rugby match a few years ago. These were the cool trendy friends who live in Dublin that i wanted to impress with my suave and sophisticated ways. anyway, i got smashed on cider (luckily, so did everyone else) and announced to the group that i was won a Disco Dancing competition and could therefore call myself the Disco Dancing Queen of Scotland. i even did a little disco dancing to prove it.

some of these friends still believe it is true.

i tell the most awful lies and say the most inappropriate things when i'm drunk. and that is why i have never been out drinking with my current work colleagues. i have no wish to ruin my carefully constructed "quiet and mature" image.

Oh I've remembered another one, once on a night out with university friends, Mr Caterpillar told them that Delia Smith was his Auntie - I can't remember why he said this, but some of them believed him! Bet they were surprised when she wasn't at our wedding ?

Work drinkng is very very bad for you. I've had a couple of clangers recently. Got drunk and accidentally let slip that the reason that I could barely move my arms wasn't because of the gym but because of the pole dancing lessons (the men are now looking at me all rather differently and one of them wanted to find me a pole!) Secondly we started a conversation about who we would, in our team and the company - I refused to say anything but having had a few drinks later blabbed, and he's one of the directors ?, not the thing to tell your boss! On the plus side though I was on every guy on the teams list.

    Sparks, that's hilarious!

Don't suppose any of your workmates manages to catch it on their mobile for us all to have hysterics at gaze in wonder at?
