Wii help please!

Jacksmum, 17 July, 2008 at 11:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

Ok, well I've bought the Wii console and Wii Play to get an extra Wii mote. Need to buy another Wii mote and 2 more Nunchuks to avoid arguments! Am I best to buy genuine Wii ones as there seems to be quite an array available online. Are they all the same? Are they all 'wireless'? Also, what sort of charging system is best?

I'm a total gaming novice and wanting to get all this in place before the children have it!

Should I get the sports accessories (tennis racquet, golf club) pack that seems to be around - is this needed for Wii Sports? Will I need batteries?

Any top tips gratefully received. Don't want any disappointment when we unwrap it!

Thanks!

We bought 3 extra remotes and they're official nintendo ones and we just put normal batteries in them. We play on it quite a lot and since we got it last October I think we've only had to change the batteries twice so we've never bothered with the docking things you can get.

SIL has got the sports accessory pack but we all thought it was a bit crap really so we just stick to the remotes. The Wii Wheel is good though what you get with Mario Karts.

I would stick to official wii remotes and nunchucks. to be honest.

You don't need any of the sports kit stuff. They are basically just hollow plastic things that the wiimote sits in. The only one that I think is worth getting is the wii-wheel if you have driving games.

We found our remotes ate through batteries, so the docking station has been very useful.

We've not got the docking stations either, just batteries, they seem to be lasting fine. We got one extra remote and have Sports and Sports Party (the new one that came out on Monday) and don't really need any of the other accessories. Not tried the wheel so can't comment on that one, but you should be good to go with what you've got. I have asked my 13 year old son (the resident expert) and he agrees (which is a very rare thing in this hous ?).

Enjoy it - I love ours, although I did have very bad arm ache after the first day.
