Will I regret eloping?

So We got engaged in January 2017 and so far we’ve not really started wedding planning. We’ve looked at venues but nothing’s really stood out to us, or if it has it’s been way out of our budget. My OH said he’s happy to do with whatever I want, but I’m wondering if I will regret eloping. The benefits of eloping for me are it’s romantic, private and it’s the wedding and honey moon in one. The negatives are that I feel like I won’t get the “wedding/bride” experience and that our family won’t be there to see it.

I’m just wondering if anyone has just eloped with just the two of you, where was your destination, what did you do about witnesses and if you regretted it?

    Hi!

We got married in St Lucia this May 2018, just the two of us with a low key wedding BBQ upon our return. We showed the video of our wedding to the guests on projector and I still had wedding favours, cake and had a white dress on, so didnt feel like i am missing out on anything. I definitely dont feel any regrets.

We're eloping but everyone knows, I'm a firm believer of there are no rules for getting married. None.

We've opted for get married in the Arizona desert, next to a lake and spend the day exploring with our photographer. We're throwing a party when we get back (very similar to a reception!) Our witnesses are our photographer and her friend.

No reason you couldn't do something similar.
