    Where We Met

I met my lovely fiance whilst at uni, we have been together for 5 years and I couldn't be happier. It wasn't a dramatic love story, I simply met a man that made me laugh, made me giggle and who i could talk to and be myself with. We are both lucky in the fact that we come from big families who have all suprisingly had long and happy marraiges, no divorcees as of yet, so hopefully this is a good omen for us.

We started off as friends but 5 years down the line we have a beautiful winter wedding to look forward to and I am the proud owner of this georgous princess cut platinum beauty

Thank you very much cant wait to hear all about your lovely plans!, We get married on 14th December 2013, after being engaged for 3 years, so after all of the introductions here is the planning part ...

I work in PR, so I am reduculously organised to the point of nurotic! I am so glad in a away that we have had 3 years to plan our wedding, as we have had time to take each section bit by bit, do some reseatch and find the best prices before booking things.

Thankfully everything is all booked now, and i have nothing to do its just little things like post out invites, buy the sweeties for the candy bar and finalise the details at the church ready for the order of service.

here is a sneak peek of our invites!

It's been a while so i thought I would carry on with my thread! ... hope you lovely ladies are all well and i havent bored you all too much! ...

we are having 2 separate venues for our big day, we are getting married at my local catholic church, its a lovely very old church that has played a huge part in my life as well as my families as we have all got married there!, this is the best pic i could find!

Your venues look lovely, we're getting married at our local catholic church too and it's also meant a lot to our family for years..great when a place is so special to you. Do hope you get the snow on your big day, super jealous. I really wanted either an Autumn or Winter wedding but I didn't have the patience to wait another few months so June it is lol, i'm in Scotland though so no guarantees with our weather lol!

We are having a string quartet playing whilst we eat dinner, and then for the eveing, a casio coming to the bar room, where thesre is a gorgous log fire:

not the best pics i know but its the best i could im afraid!

    Entertainment

we have hired a casino to come along to the evening reception and bring some black jack, polker and roulette tables with them to enterain the guests, well mostly the men!

to kick off our eveing reception we have hired a frank sinatra show, who will perform for an hour and once he has finished the DJ can get started, he is fantastic, i stubled across him whilst writing an article on Holly Willoughby as he played at her wedding, i was compleatly bowled over by him and fell in love with his dreamy voice, feel free to take a look: http://www.justtobefrank.co.uk/

we have then booked these lovely guys to play at the church and whilst we are eating at the reception, http://www.serenatawinds.co.uk/

i heard them at the national wedding show and fell in love! we have alos booked a choir to perfprm at the chruch, as there is nothing worse then nobody knwoing the hyms!

I love the look of your reception venue just looking at it again, looks huuuge! Love the sound of the chandeliers too, love all those details Smiley smile

Our days June 14th next year..seems so long away but at the same time I have a feeling it'll fly in lol. Envy you having everything done..i have literally our church and venue (pollok house..a historic 13th century house in Glasgow) booked and that's it..know we're having a red theme & trying to get some vintage through it, other than that no clue :/ Need to get our act together, booking our photographer at the weekend and possibly the cars so hoping it'll all come together slowly but surely lol. Nowhere near as organised as you sound and have a feeling i'll be last minute with things I've most likely forgot..trying to avoid that tho Smiley smile

I hate being hot too so hoping next years weather will be as cool as we've had it this year (without the pouring rain)..always have a fear of overheating and fainting or something, not good at handling heat Smiley laugh Ahh so hope you get snow, would be lovely.. winter (& Christmas) is my favourite time of year..are you having a Christmassy theme or anything? Smiley smile so nosey and love hearing peoples plans xx

WOW..your guests are getting some great entertainment that night! Smiley laugh

Sad how much i'm excited for you at having a log fire haha..so cosy, I love all the candles / log fires ideas..looks so lovely!
We just have a wedding band set playing (I think..not booked yet) & a golden eagle making an appearance for a while that people can hold n have photos with, other than that that's pretty much it entertainment wise Smiley laugh would love a candy bar & photobooth so will see if that happens!

    Hi,

    We are date twins ?

I am so excited, but seems to be coming around very quickly and loads more left to organise. I got the call today to say my dress is in ?

I am hoping for a little dusting of snow, but also bright blue skies (not asking for much I know!)

Look forward to hearing how the rest of your planning goes, might inspire me to start organising myself!!

    xx

    Hello fellow Winter bride

Welcome to the madhouse ha ha ?

I'm getting married on the 24th November this year.

I have absolutely no idea how we have gone from being 2 years away from the wedding to 5 months - it has absolutely flown by!

Thankfully i like to think i'm more or less organised. I sent our invitations out last week and am just starting to get RSVP's back - it's starting to feel a bit more real now.

Here's a sneaky peek of our invites xx

thank you very much babe, i was so surprised when i walked inside i was getting so disheartened when i couldn't find what i wanted my other half and my mum and dad took me inside and i was blown away! its far bigger than i though and whats nice is that you get so many different rooms so the grandparents can stay out of the noise if they like!

your venue is BEAUTIFUL! lucky girly! sounds so lovely i love a unique twist! how is it all coming together? id just write a list down of everything you want or need to do and then just go through it bit by bit at your own pace, that's what i did, you have plenty of time but i does go by so so fast! you will have your big day before you know it! cant wait to see your plans lovely xx

Thank you ladies, im loving reading about all of your plans! no theme for us as such just a crisp winter colour scheme! we have gone for silvers and whites with a touch of blush pink to add some warmth =)

so next is on to gifts as i did this pretty early!

    Gifts

gifts was actually somethjing i did rather early on! i have done a little bag to give to the bridesmaids ( all 7 of them) for the nigh before as well as the 2 best men and the parents ands grandparents.

The 3 older bridesmaids have each got some Bridemaid PJ's like this :

along with some new make up,

and the 4 little girls have each got a disney lipgloss like this:

which is nice and subtle and adds a little dash of sparkle, and some beautiful pink glitter nail polish :

The men have all got some socks with Best Man and Father of the Bride on along with matching cufflinks, which i got off ebay.

The Mums and Nans have got a beautiful snoflake brooch, like this:

hey are from Ebay and the seller is crystaleleganceuk if anyone is interested =)

The men have all go socks and cufflinks with best man etc on and my lovely groom has got a little goodie box, with his fav aftershave set in there, a wedding crashers dvd, a mini bottle of diserano and a ltd edition bottle of coke and glass, groom socks, some pearl cufflinks, some mini bits like hair putty, lip balm etc for bid day emergancies!

then we had to concentrate on the wedding day gifts ...

with a large wedding party to contend with there was a lot of online sale hunting!, for the little 3 bridesmaids we got them a personalised Disney bauble, a book of Dickens A Christmas Carol and some lovely sterling silver star earrinsg from the sale in Debenhams.

The older girls have got sterling sliver star earings and matching bangle, again from the debenhams sale, along with a copy of Love letters of Great men and Women ( made famous by Sex and The City)

The Mums have each got a lovely pearl earings and necklance set, and the Nans have got personalised photo frame ready for a photo of the day.

for the two dads and the groom have all got watches, i really wanted to get them something usefull but something taht they would treasure, i searched forever on teh high street but found everything really expencive, so it was online that i went and i stumbles accross The Watch Hut, who were having a sale at the time, they have a dedicated Wedding collection which has loads of brands and the proces were really reasonable, i grabbed 2 Ben Sherman watches for the dads and had the bargain of the certury for the h2b! they had a Tag Heuer on the sale for around £600, i managed to snap it up and although it is expencive its around the same price that my eternity ring pressie is costing and i knew it was somnething that he has always wanted.

if any of you are thinking of gift ideas, here is the link, hopefully it may come in use to you: Watch Hut Wedding Collection

Accessories where my next step as i wanted to work my big day look around that, and i fell in love with glitzy secrets gorgeous collections,

    Accessories

i got all of mine and the girls accessories from Glitzy Secrets : i grabbed a necklace and some earrings from there:

i have paired the earrings with some small diamond studs that were a gift from my grandmother on my 21st , i am not having a necklace as my dress has a high neckline and with my updo i wanted the focus to be on these gorgeous sparkling earrings. My other half bought me a Tiffany pearl bracelet for Christmas which i plan to wear also,
