Word of advice - although a little late!

The Sock Chicken, 15 January, 2010 at 21:05 Posted on Planning 0 5

For those who have wedding spreadsheets, to do lists, guest lists etc saved on your computer/laptop - please please back it up.

My laptop died over Christmas with all my wedding stuff on it.

We did think to back it up - unfortunately when h2b plugged the external hard drive into his computer this week, everything off my laptop is not there!

Fortunately, h2b works with IT geeks who are going to take the had drive out of the broken laptop and retrieve the data.

So my words of advice are to back everything up and double check it is where you put it!

Snap Zippy although my laptop went on the blink after the wedding and after I had typed up the list of presents for the thank you cards. I knew I'd never remember who gave what 3/4 weeks after we got back from the honeymoon so thought I was being very organised at typing a list but oh no laptop had other ideas and I lost everything! That was with IT geeks trying to save my stuff so I hope you have better luck than me.

This exact thing happened to me 2 weeks ago and I only just got my laptop back today.

Lucky for me they managed to retrieve most of it but I had some pre-wedding photo shoot pictures that are a pressie to H2B on there that were irreplacable and also my wedding invite DVD which took me a month to make.

I certainly learnt my lesson and backed everything up on discs and memory sticks as soon as I got it back this evening.

Google docs is a good way of saving documents online too!
