Work shoes...

MrsRees2B, 8 July, 2015 at 20:39 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 7

Where other than clarks can I get decent work shoes from. I have size 9 feet so that limits me straight away. They need to look good with cropped trousers and long ones. Not too fussed about price expecting to pay about £40-£50. I'm currently wearing £3 pumps from primark and my feet are killing me by the end of the day. They have to be flat and supportive as I walk approx 5miles a day round my building alone and the walk to and from is about 1 mile each way.

My husband's mum really rates Hotter shoes although some are not particularly glamorous. She has some little leather ankle boots that look fairly stylish and are well made and supportive.

Could be worth a look? I am pretty sure that they go up to 9 and have shoes with your price range although some are more pricey.

From memory Next and Mark and Spencers shoes were decent quality and you could get some that are smart but still practical.

When I was working on the ambulances for 12 hours shifts I swore by Hush Puppies ankle boots. SOOOOO comfy - a bit more expensive than you were looking for, but IMO the quality and comfort is worth is - and they are available at reasonable prices in a lot of factory outlet type places so you could get lucky if you know where to look.

I"m the opposite end of the size spectrum to you though so can't answer on that one.

Have a look at Pavers, they may be a little pricey, but I have a pair of shoes from there I wear for work and they last and are super comfy.

Debenhams Good for the Sole range are pretty comfortable, not sure if they go up to a 9 though.

Ended up in clarks....they had a sale on and I managed to get £70 shoes for £35 so I'm happy. I put them on and it was like walking on air! Very impressed actually as clarks in my mind was for kids and grannies. Will be buying from there in the future. Oh and the service was amazing! I tried on 2 pairs gave one back and headed to the tills. There were 2 people serving and 2 people being served a lady saw I was waiting to pay and she came right over and opened up another till so I didn't have to wait and she actually apologised for keeping me waiting the whole 2 mins I stood there!
