worrying..is naked hair wrong/weird?

cotteesgirl, 30 July, 2009 at 19:40 Posted on Planning 0 12

I had my hair trial a couple of weeks ago, plan was to have half up do with lots of curlies at back with some hair diamonds....however shock horror (im so not glam) i looked in the mirror and hated it, it just wasnt me and no amount of fiddling around with it made it feel better. So the decision is that i am just having 'me hair' which is my hair down, little bit poofy, little bit glam, little bit wavy. The problem i have is it will be naked, no flower, no veil, no glitz but the more i think of it the more im worried about it looking a bit odd like that? i dont know if its going to be a bit too plain, im also not planning on having another hair trail and really really dont want to waste money on buying something that potentially i wont like....... Can i please ask for your comments?

If it's what you want them no it won't look too plain. It you do something you aren't comfortable with that will be more obvious that not wearing something in your hair.

Just because tradition means something is worn in the hair doesn't mean you have to have it. Everyone will know you are the bride regardless of your hair style/accessories.

I tried all different styles, curly, up i hated them all, they just wasn't me! so i have decided to have mine cut into a bob, much more me.

you need to have what you feel comfortable with.

I had 'me' hair - I wanted to look like me on our wedding day! All I did was go to the hair dresser to wash and dry it, she did curl it a bit but I knew it'd fall out...

There's loads more here if you want to look - https://www.flickr.com/photos/33950624@N05/sets/72157615763968754/

Well if you see something you kinda like I could send it as a sample to try on so you can see it in real life. I have quite lot of stock as samples and have sent hitchers them in the past to try before they buy.

My dear I think you will look fab and having "naked" hair isn't an issue,.... it's definitely more important to feel comfortable on the day as it will show in the pics etc... the number of times you see brides with what they're "supposed to" have rather than what they want or suits them is obvious from a mile away... you have what you want!

    Hey there!

I agree with what has already been said - go with what you feel best. I'm not decided n hair yet but will probably keep it very very simple. As long as the frizz stays away i'm happy!

I agree with the others - it's what you feel comfortable with and what you like for yourself that matters most. I'm one of these people who ruffles my hair up when I come out of the hairdressers to make it look more like me! When I get home, my hubby usually says "Have you had your hair cut?" "Yes" I say - "Will be much better when you've done it" He always says ?

I knew that I wasn't going to have a veil as I was getting married outside and didn't want it blowing about. I tried on and looked at loads of tiaras and then side tiaras but in the end decided that they just weren't "me".

I just had two ivory roses in my hair in the end.

It's all about what you eel comfortable with, so no you don't need to wear anything if that's what you want to do.

If you feel more comfortable then go for it - who says you have to have a veil/tiara, etc! I'm not having a veil but am going for a gorgeous headband instead, my hair is going to be exactly how it is any other day just with a bit more oomph lol. What about maybe looking for a simply sparkly headband if you feel it looks a bit plain?
