    Oh god yes!

My mother is going control-freak crazy, my dad took about 6 months to come round to the idea & now won't stop going on about it, and OH's littlest sister (now 21) got into a right strop when we got engaged a year ago, because she isn't a bridesmaid!
None of his sisters are BMs tho - he let me chose them & didn't think it was right to force people on me.

But she got stroppy to the point of sending *me* a text message, saying how she thought we were totally out of order!! I was not impressed!

Mmm, not experienced it so much just yet but I'm waiting for when it happens!

I have to admit to it bringing a little bridezilla out in me, and I've also had a few arguments with 2 bridesmaids which may not have otherwise happened!

Yes this is how I'm feeling at the moment... with the whole "you need to invite blah blah who never speaks to you" etc etc. And they call us bridezillas! x

Oh my god yes I am so with you on that statement!! We get married next Friday and to be honest I had thought wedding planning was easy and stress free until these last few weeks!! There's nothing stressful about the actual wedding and details but other people's crap is really getting me down this week!!

Weddings are unfortunately one of those things where people assume they're entitled to a say about everything- or that they should voice their opinion regardless of how rude/irrelevant/ridiculous it is.

I suppose it's because it's something that most people can relate to in some way or feel that they have a certain amount of knowledge about- after all everyone knows someone who is, or has been married.

I must be one of the lucky ones, so far i've not come up against any hurdles, arguments or people interfering. I guess we are lucky to have two laid back families!

    Yes!

A friend of mine heard that one of my bridesmaids was trying for a baby, she then told another she was really happy as this meant she could be my bm as she's 'next in line'! Err, no. Cheeky mare!

Snap! I also have the issue that OH, of his own accord, has picked my 2 brothers to be ushers! Of his 2 sisters 1 understands but the youngest keeps having a go, essentially pushing herself further and further away from being a bridesmaid.

I need my MOH and 2 bridesmaids (all friends) to support me on the day, and I can only afford so much, but if I could afford more there is a cue of 4 other friends who are like family to me (unlike his sisters) who I would love to have. I have time yet and don't want to create upset, but at the same time they just didn't enter my head when thinking of who I needed around me on the day. It's tricky!

Completely agree!! I havnt even booked a venue yet and my mother in law has gone insane! In one breath she's saying 'Its your day, do whatever you 2 want to do', and then in the next breath she is telling me what flowers, dress, food etc i should have!

God knows what the next year is going to be like!

Good luck to everyone else dealing with crazy mother in laws!

    Sam
