Worth nearly passing out!!! *******with FLASH******* UPDATED 2/02/2011

VikingPrincess, 30 January, 2011 at 15:45 Posted on Planning 0 15

Happy sunday one and all!

as you know, had my shoulder op on monday and a nasty encounter with general anaesthetic, from which it took me near enough to full 24 hrs to recover...

shhhhhhh, don't tell the hospital as they would absolutely kill me, but i convinced my oh that we simply HAD TO attend the wedding fayre at the Marriott in Leeds today as the company we've seen our fave wedding rings at was attending and had a great offer on, as in they paid your VAT on the rings if you placed an order.

as we don't drive i had to walk to bus stop, just under a quarter of a mile, then on bus to town 20 mins trip, then go to fayre , see the rings for ourselves etc, get a proper price etc and back home. easy peasy... save for the fact that by the time we got to the stall manned by our guy from Cool Joolz, i was feeling so dizzy, weak and nauseous i could hardly stand... as we left i nearly passed out and was given a nice cold glass of orange juice and even cake from the nearby cake company that was exhibiting!

mr viking was furious that i talked him into bringing me, discount or not, as i was still weak...

but.... job done!!!! RINGS ARE ORDERED!!! i am sooooo happy!!! especially as we got home, he tucked me back in bed with my sling on and kissed tip of my nose and said he loved the rings, and he can't wait to wear it - that from a man who has never, ever, in 30 years, wore one piece of jewellery apart from dog tags in the RAF. was worth nearly passing out....

we're poor at the moment, and don't get me wrong, we'd love platinum or palladium, but beggers can't be choosers, after all we have finally found the design we both love in the metal we want - white gold - so...all good...

i can hear you all, come on with the flash, stop waffling on...show us the goodies. well, here's a pic of the design although ours are flat court profile, in 9 ct white gold, 4 mm for mine and 5mm for mr viking's and they are identical. we always wanted identical rings...

all other places we tried only seem to do celtic designs in yellow gold...

i know jewellery is a very subjective thing and this may not be everyone's cup of tea but we love them!!! i just had to share!

UPDATED 2/02/11 - OMG sooooo giddy - just got a call earlier that we can actually have our wedding rings before we finish paying fo them and that they will be with us in 6 weeks!!!!!!!!!! Cue true giddiness!!!!

SO - anyone knows where I can get a dark green or ivory / cream double ring box???? I saw someone had one in a flash but can't remember who!!!!

thanks... they look even better in person, we thought so when we saw them, the pattern is magnified in the pic, they are more delicate...

Oooh, very nice VP! I am totally biased as I love Celtic designs, but I do think they look fab, and I know what you mean, it does seem to be difficult to find these styles in anything other than yellow gold.

Hope you're taking it easy now though and getting some rest!

VP, glad you made it up and about and am sure the juice and cake helped. The rings are lovely and great you got a good deal on them. Now, head on back to bed and make sure OH is nearby to bring you coffee, cake, or should that be wedding diet fruit .....hmmmmmm. Nah, you're recovering, you need cake.

    VP They are lovely.

I can't believe you did all that just after your op. I'm glad Mr VP is looking after you though.

Really like those designs. Obviously celtic is very close to my heart as well so a BIG thumbs up from me.

    NOW REST WOMAN!!!!!!!!

    hi sherrie!

it looked much more delicate in hand than in the pic, the celtic patterns is charged separately at £50 per ring to be applied, and it looks much more fine, not as chunky. they must have used a macro lens! can't believe we got both rings for £601 including delivery and they only wanted £180 deposit!
