Would these shoes go with my dress??

grace85, 20 April, 2010 at 14:38 Posted on Planning 0 27

Hey ladies,

I saw these shoes at dinner time today in the sale in Faith for £45.

I've got quite wide feet so was dreading looking for sandals but these are actually quite comfortable.

My question is do you think they will go with my dress http://lhfdataproducts.moonfruit.com/#/lhwdeb003/4535630611

TIA. xxx

As pretty as those shoes are they will get caught on your dress and potentially rip it.

Oooh yeah, hadn't thought of that. Especially as my dress is chiffon!

    Good thinking Mrs Spink. xxxx

    Lol. ?

I'm getting a bit fed up looking for shoes tbh, every pair i see that i like are ivory, my dress is white.

It's not like i want anything overly fancy, my perfect pair would be white peep toes that i could add a bit of sparkle too but can't find any anywhere that aren't a stupid amount of money.

It's starting to add to my dress wobbles, should have just stuck with an ivory dress. ?

Your dress is lovely - i nearly brought something very very similar.

Spinky is right - the shoes will catch!

There MUST be a pair of white shoes out there that you like - what about going for a coloured pair or silver pair instead of white?

I'm not sure about coloured ones, just don't think it'll go with the dress.

I have seen some white ones i like but they just seem so over priced, it's the same as anything, add wedding in front and the price doubles. Thought of going for the sparkle to add a bit more to the whole look.

I've got plenty of time to find some, i expect once the shops have their summer stuff in, i'll have more choice.

I have seen some in Debenhams, i'm keeping my eye on them.

Yeah i'm not too worried at the moment, i've got all summer to find some. and my dress isn't ready until June so i've got a while.

I've seen loads of coloured shoes that fit it's just these delicate sandals type, that i now know why i never wear. lol!!!

Not sure how much you want to spend but have a look at "Nine West" shoes on Debenhams website, they have a few in white which might be suitable.

    These are £60 http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_34171+578501_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen%7EAccessories%7EShoes+%26amp%3B+boots

There's a few other Faith shoes on there too in White.

I bought my wedding shoes and had them dyed white.

I was also sick of getting restricted for having white not ivory.

They would definitely catch on your dress. My bm had similar shoes and the hem of her dress was ruined before the ceremony. x

    Grace, what about these?

    http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/women/shoesandboots/51/12?extra=sch&n=women&pid=714-594&exclude=00E00&returnurl=%2fshop%2fgattcolour-silver-attenduse-formal-gattgender-women-cat-shoes-0%3fnxti%3d0%26nxtv%3d000%26isort%3dbst&bct=%26quot%3bShop%20By%20Product%26quot%3b%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bSilver%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bFormal%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bWomen%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bShoes

I'm sure you could detach the shiny bit. I have a pair like these, but without the shiny, and they're mega comfortable, and soft ribbon, so it's not going to catch on your dress. I've also got reasonably wide feet (I normally take a normal, but sometimes a wide) and they're fine 'cos there is give.

I had seen them BSB, they've got them in ivory too haven't they? They look comfortable because like you said the material will give. Might have to take a trip to next. Thanks hun. x

    Hope that helps

I stumbled across this website by accident one day, I've bought shoes from it once and they were quite generous but they weren't from the wedding section, howvever they were fine with returns and are quite cheap in comparison to bridal shops so even if you got them dyed white they wouldn't end up costing a fortune

Hi I can't not post a thread here after reading all your shoe dilemmas. It's one of the reasons why i set up Orchabelle. If you are worried about your shoes catching on your dress, may i suggest these, they can be made for wide fitting, in white, ivory, silver, any colour really. I just need your feet measurements. And the best thing is, you can choose your own heel height.

    I hope I've helped.

    Genny
