Would you appreciate it if someone bought you

One of these

My friend has really helped me out looking after my children for me after my holiday club closed on me the week before the holidays started, She has refused to take any money from me and won’t even let me pay for the food they eat while they are there. So I would like to buy her a gift, She mentioned the other day that she would love to have a pool so thought she might like one of these.

Im just a bit worried that her garden isn’t massive and if I get it she might feel lumbered with this large object that would take up about a quarter of her garden

Personally I'd love it, but then I was in my son's paddling pool at the weekend.

What a lovely gesture. I'd do a little bit more gentle detective work and see if you can find out what would be suitable - ask a mutual friend or neighbour? Ask your kids what they've seen at her house? I wouldn't rush into this because it looks as though you want to spend a pretty reasonable amount of money so you don't want to get it wrong or worse still, embarrass her.

I have spoken to her sister who thinks the pool is a great idea

But not sure if its just because she would get to use it and thinks its a good idea for her sister to have one IYSWIM

She does have kids of her own so it would be for the whole family

I'd love it, but i have a small garden with only an area to put it on grass. So it would kill the grass under and it wouldn't look too hot when the pool was taken down in the winter.

Have they got space for it, not on the grass? If so then I would go with the pool

Otherwise, I would get the BBQ

    How lovely of you

It's a lovely gesture and if they have the room go for it, the only other thing I would check is if they are on a water meter, it might cost quite a bit to fill it up! (sorry to be a kill joy!)

I'd have loved something like this when my kids were little!
