Would you carry out a threat?

Clare _ M, 6 February, 2009 at 15:19 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 21

Before I carry on I'll say I have no intention of following it through because I'm not that evil but I wonder how many of you are?

Mr M has a Girls Aloud calander and I have a Take That one on the back of the front door (yes, I know, very classy). Anyway the deal is that he has one month I have one month. I've even struck an extra deal in his favour (because I'm too nice). It's my month this month and he's already swapped them over twice so last night before I went to bed I told him if my calander wasn't back up by the morning I'd rip his up and throw it away because he's not sticking to the deal. I didn't have one last year so had to put up with GA for 12 months.

Guess what? Yep, the calanders hadn't been swapped this morning so I've hidden his under the sofa and have every intention of telling him I've ripped it up! Would you actually do it??

I'd hide it too, and wouldn't tell him for ages.

Although you could solve the problem by having one in the kitchen? That's where my TT calendar is, Mr Hole hasn't put up his Kylie one yet, I won't let him have it downstairs ?

As much as I hate empty threats, I wouldn't go through with it, far too petty and not worth the hassle it could cause IMHO.

I always carry out my threats so only make ones I would really do. I would have threatened to bin it, but not rip it up as I wouldn't do it, but I would put it in the bin.

My friend can't understand why her kids take no notice of her threats but never ever ever carries them through so they know it means nothing when shes ranting and raving

I'd be tempted but I know my H would seek revenge by wiping my pillow between his bum cheeks.

I think I'd do the same - hide it and tell him that I'd ripped it up. Worth it for the tease value, but not worth major marital fallouts.

I'd hide it to as it's a silly threat. Although MrKB probably deserves something torn up as he carried out his threat of burning my slippers in the fire ? Don't ask ?

I'd probably do exactly what you've done and pretend I'd done it but I wouldn't actually rip it up - I'd feel too mean!

I can't believe neither of us have actually thought about that. I'd need to get a hook though.

CountDukula I'm sure revenge will involve my shoes. ?

I'd not mention it and keep his hidden until he mentioned it. I would then hide it somewhere really clever and leave him a clue tomororw morning leading to further clues which eventually detail a ransome (ie Wine, chocolates etc) before he got it back.

I'd not tear it up but I'd tell him I'd burned it - of course I wouldn't have but instead I'd burn all his important documents - birth certs, bank statements, passports and greet him with a pile of ashes.

Then eventually give in and say of course you didn't burn the calender ?

He wouldn't dare shift my calender again ?

Being the control freak that I am ? I would tell him that from now on I am in control of putting the calenders up and only put it up when I WANT It up!!! if he can't behave, I would make him ?

Mind you it would probably end up in a "tussle" over the Take That Calender if it was Rob and I!

Punish him for a few days and make him sweat!

Either that or get Chicken round.....

    Oh yes, i definitely would

once when we were on a long jounrye, mrsnick kept nagging me to put her enrique ingesias cd on. i kept say no. eventually i gave in but said she could have 4 songs only. after the 4 i said right, thats it, get it out. she refused. so i said if she didnt take it out on the count of 5 i would throw it out of the window. she laughed and said i wouldnt dare. so on 5, i ejected it, and flicked it out of the window ?. needless to say, she wasnt exactly happy ?

still, on the plus side, she knows now that if i said i ll do something, i really will do it ?

waah! i just remembered. this worked in my favour at christmas - her sister was annoying me, and i said if she didnt stop i d fart in her face. she laughed and said i wouldnt, and mrsnick sternyl said to her "if i was you i would stop because he really will fart in your face". she stopped ?

I think i would also hide it and refuse to say what I had done with it.

You could cut out pictures of GA from magazines and send him ransom notes...
