Just say a friend of yours is training to be a hairdresser so you let her do it to help her out and havent got the heart to tell her she messed up. then you come across as the nice guy ?

I'd go back to the hairdresser that mucked up and insist that they fix it for free or get your money back. Afterall if they were selling any other service, like dry cleaning that didn't clean, you wouldn't hesitate to go back and insist they do it properly.

Hmm...it depends, if both you and your regular hairdresser are still in good term i'd probably going back tell her what happen
but if not, then i'd probabaly look for a new one to fix your damaged hair or go back to the salon where your hair was damage and demand to fix it.

I travel a lot, so I often use other hairdressers wherever I've been, as well as my regular hairdresser. She doesn't seem to mind. I don't think yours will either. If you're not comfortable just telling her you went to a different salon "for a change", you could say you were visiting your auntie who lives in the Outer Hebrides and she suggested a trip to the hairdressers blah blah blah.

Just make sure you can lie convincingly, not that your hairdresser will lose any sleep either way...
