Would you have your hen party on tv?

lucyluvy, 11 June, 2013 at 11:12 Posted on Planning 0 2

I've seen a company that are looking to record hen parties in June for an upcoming tv show .... It made me think would I have done this and I'm not sure - my hen party was pretty tame other than dancing on a podium in a night club with a group of stags (the hubby has seen the photos so he knowsSmiley smile )

would you do it?

Lucy

I was actually contacted by someone via Twitter about this after I tweeted about my hen weekend! I declined; my hen is going to be a very sedate affair. Plus, it would feel a bit weird having someone hang around and film you- I'd be worried that they'd try and set up 'scenes' for the cameras or incite fights between people. I don't think that would work with my friends- they're all so bloomin' laid back that, even if they had a problem with someone / thing they wouldn't say anything, just for a quiet life!

I wouldn't even though mine was just a meal out with the girls. I think it would be very hard to 'forget' the cameras were there so would they truly get real documentation?

We were contacted a couple of months ago by one of the major tv channels wanting to do a fly on the wall type documentary about our wedding. It would have meant filming in the run up, in our house, including the kids. Then filming the ceremony and reception. TBH if it was just the ceremony and after-do, filmed in a discrete manner and we got to okay the final cut, we may have gone with it. But there was no way I wanted a film crew following every movement and conversation in the lead up to it all..... I'd have to keep my house spotless 24/7 (like there's time for that these last few days!!) and no matter how natural they reckon it would be, there would always be the pressure to perform plus the worry over the editing.

Needless to say, we declined :0)
